It’s going to be a great time without dishonorable kills.
The question becomes, take the fun away?
Blizzard needs to test their servers because a raid on a city may crash the Realm. We’ve seen what’s happened with Asmon’s 80 man raids. It is not possible. The lag is unplayable. Its 2019. We need servers that can not lag with 200 people fighting at once.
Yeah that is really weird too because we used to do huge raids on Emerald Dream and it didn’t crash the servers.
80 vs who knows how many was common. Your FPS might be in the dirt, slide show stuff at times but no crashing. They definitely changed something that hopefully won’t be an issue in Vanilla for very large scale PvP like city raids.
Clearly you’ve never tried to murder those damn annoying children NPCs in stormwind.
There are already a number of completely unattackable npcs in vanilla. It’s not a new mechanic at all.
Killing flight masters is always a good one… Murdering players outright is another (especially in contested zone towns, after you’ve killed the flightmaster and given them no escape)…
People also apparently are forgetting that faction bosses WHERE ALSO QUESTGIVERS, and that they only spawned after a few days (might have even been once a week)… I had a number of alts unable to turn in quests in UC, because Sylvanus was dead, etc.
I gotta kind of agree with the idea, and it’s long overdue. When you’re a level 8 running around a starting zone and a bored untouchable 60/120 is just running around 1 shotting the quest givers and calling it PvP, it literally shuts down the game for that person.
With the phasing content in, this might stay pretty common, and without the reward motivator behind the PvP, it might not be as easy to get 60s to come out to protect a quest NPC.
Making only the very essential NPCs solves the dilemma of greifing quest givers stopping low level players from carrying on. Faction Leaders should be fair game.
I hated DK’s in vanilla and I’ll probably hate them in classic but c’est la vie.
The worst part is when you get some over zealous jerk in a raid that keeps attacking the civs. Nothing more frustrating when you’re pushing for a rank 10+ and getting your progress wiped out because of DKs.
That was the Vanilla experience. And honestly, people got bored of it. Some troll might spend more time than everyone else, but even they get bored when everyone just avoids the quest hub, or works around them.
This post right here. Is the exact reason, why DHK was added to the game. The very reason.
So my friends I say, by making Quest and specific essential NPCs unkillable, DHK will not be a necessary change.
It does more harm than good to allow a DHK to be possible. Making those essential NPCs unkillable, stops that behavior straight in its tracks. It allows World City PvP Raiding to continue without fear of receiving a DHK on PvP Servers.
City Raiding is going to be a big thing.
It is a very fun concept that will happen in Classic.
DHK will really deter World City Raiding, because for those of us in PvP Servers, we don’t want that to happen to our rank.
To stop the griefing and allow World PvP content to remain unhindered! Make important NPCs unkillable for both factions. All non important NPCs can die. Faction bosses ofcourse are free play.
Maybe stopping the opposite faction from an Onyxia head turn in can mess with their raiding schedules because you killed their Faction Boss.
Exactly why the DHks should only be given to players that physically hit the civilian themselves… as opposed to them being given to everyone in the raid.
The problem with this is, that it’s objectively false in real warfare. Civilians are the highest death-toll in all warfare, and normally if you warn some one you’re going to bomb them and give them X ammount of time to leave the area, they dont warcrime trial.
