Im trying to help my wife unlock the Lightforged Draenei and I heard that for Uniting The Isles we just need to get friendly with one faction, is this true? I seemed to have done it myself without any effort to gain rep. Is there an easy way to gain some rep? Sorry if my question is unclear

The first character you do the quest on has to get to friendly reputation with the 5 zone factions. Once one character has unlocked world quests on an account, all others will get an “easy” version that you can just turn right back in without any requirements.
As a note, the 110/48 boosts came with world quest (and the Broken Shore) unlocked already, and this also counts for the account unlock for your other characters. I don’t know if it’s still true, but at least earlier on after the squish if you used the 50 boost on a trial character, the Legion world quests and Broken Shore were also already unlocked, just like with the 110/48 boost. (As well as BfA world quests.)

I have the same issue. After I take Uniting The Isles quest, the emissary quests in my map are gray out and locked, I can not do these quests. how can I unlock emissary quests ?
You said you took the quest, did you complete it?
Some of the Emissary quests (the ones for Broken Shore and Argus) require further unlocks to access. Be aware that the pre-patch stuff is causing some phasing problems. So, if you’re 70, make sure you’ve done the Harbinger and Radiant Echos quests. (And if you still have missing NPCs, you may have to wait for them to fix stuff.)
For the Broken Shore:
Once world quests are unlocked, go to Krasus’ Landing in Dalaran and Khadgar will have the quests Armies of Legionfall and Assault on the Broken Shore. (These are the only quests you need to complete here, so you don’t need to do the followups.)
For Argus:
Once you’ve turned in Assault on the Broken Shore, then you can go back to Khadgar in the Violet Citadel to pick up “The Hand of Fate.” This starts the Argus Campaign. You’ll need to do most of the quests there. The quests involving the mission table are not required so you don’t have to worry about leveling up followers.
I can not complete the quest because Emissary quests on my map for 5 objects zone are locked and gray out. So I can not do friendly quest for 5 objects. How can I unlock Emissary quests on my map to do 5 objects friendly ?
To get to friendly rep to unlock the world quests and emissaries, you’ll need to do the regular story quests in each zone. You can start each zone’s quests from the scouting map in your class order hall.
