Let’s say I’m a death knight and an elf, shouldn’t an NPC dialogue reflect that with me. Red dragons should really dislike me. I should be able to communicate with ghosts.
A mage gets sophisticated text because traditionally they have high intelligence.
Remember the original starter quests in classic when warriors or mages got a special invitation trainer letter.
Quests should be tailored to their class and race. Also possibly our professions that boost a stat. This should be throughout the game. Just like mages shouldn’t have an issue communicating with other language groups.
The warrior should have a less sophisticated dialogue and have more communication problems. Death knights should elicit terror. Demon Hunters probably as well.
That is an insult to Shakespearean warriors everywhere.
But yeah some tailored dialogue here and there would be nice. The only real instance of this, that I’ve noticed is at the end of the Azure Span quest zone when Raszageth comments on your class. She expressed disappointment with me for siding against them, and had no qualms in deciding to kill me.
I roll with two accounts at a time, and I’ve been putting a Draenei Hunter and a Human Rogue through the content. I’ve noticed a lot of points where one or the other or both will get custom dialogue, more than usual even.
Like, the dwarf that you sit down and listen to his story, there’s a point where he talks about how you might relate to his story because of something in your racial background. My Draenei got the line, “Although… I heard about Argus. Whether you were born on the planet or after your people fled, I imagine you can relate to what I speak of.”
Dracthyr have to become mana addicted like a nightborne in Ohnara plains for the artifact quest there. I noticed it when I did the quest a second time and didn’t have to become mana addled/addicted. It’s there, it’s just subtle.
Yes. There are 204 class/race combo. It would be impossible to tailor dailog to all of them.
Having said that, Blizzard does have some targetted quest that acknowledged either your race/class(as an example, the quest where you talk to the dragon dwarf has some different line depending your race)
