Uninterested in modern world content

Just my 2 cents… I would be more interested in dream surge or invasions if models/events were a little more menacing

Love the graphics team and their work but personally wish WoW would go back to a grittier aesthetic

Would love to see the art style return some to the original vibe of the game which was to survive in a very dangerous world

The threat of the scourge, black rock orcs, these were harsh realities of Azeroth and super cool.

This void stuff on the other hand, just lacks that kind of ooomph

Me either. I’d much rather live in ancient Greece or Rome. Less crazies around.

You and I remember the “grittiness” of classic wow asthetics very differently. Cartoon Patchwerk was full of grit with that silly face of his, lol.

And how can we forget these “gritty” zombies, lol.

I’d love to see more story added, quests, and what not but they keep adding barely anything but themed events and bare minimum snippets of story with a 3 minute cinematic after 3 months. This coming from an mmo that makes a lot of money but barely puts anything out all to maximize the bottom line.

And yeah better themed zones like Icecrown was with the Scourge everywhere. This dev team is playing it too safe and sticking to overly formulaic development that feels uninspired and boring.

The art style can be menacing. The latest cinematic they released had some creepy feels.

Yeah I agree. Some things are very cartoony.

I’m a fan of the art style, but could be more gritty and keep it.

Wow, first time in the forums I’ve seen someone wish the WoW graphics were worse

You have to be literally 3 years old to be scared… which would make sense because the cinematic feels like it was made for small children, anyway.

Maybe you’ve just grown out of WoW :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

And that would be totally fine with me, because I love the graphics. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out you won’t be missed.

Yea it wasn’t so much about the low polygons but more about the total feel of the game (also why choose undead in STV/Tanaris as opposed to like WPL)

Models, music, ambiance, all of those features when combined with the tough game balance made it have a totally different feel than retail wow

A death was actually pretty punishing in terms of time and even expenses so you were much more invested into the life of your character and the world it’s dangers — in a very immersive way

I’d say it felt this way up until cataclysm and then it started to shift to be more soft

Maybe you will because I main healer on all my toons
