There’s no consistency, which is one of the biggest blunders.
Then you have this spectacular fail where “we’re not bringing it back,” followed by this bug, followed by clawing things back…it’s just…so lolworthy that they’re still doing this crap. It’s a literal circus show.
Blizzard’s mode of operation tends to be to make immensely unpopular decisions, and then ONLY walk them back if they get enough pushback on them.

As my discussion with Nihilis has proven, I can be one of my few main characters, and while i have the achievements to back what I say, it doesn’t fully prove what I say.
I will say Hotfixes should have its own section on the bnet app or a button on the patch notes that brings you to hotfix page. Then this fix should also be mentioned in the hotfixes and it is not.

Exactly I might actually try more pvp if i knew there was chance I could get something from a past elite set. Its weird that when I suggest glads earning previous mounts might actually give more competition from people. they would still have to be the top .5% of people, but apparently people have poopooed this suggestion here.

There was also a bat for horde-side. I cannot remember if you got both if you only did one side. (Ive been playing both sides so I did the quest lines for both.)

Exactly this! as they haven’t even seen mention of this fix elsewhere other then this thread, not in the patchnotes not on the hotfixes page even the link provided at the top of this thread seems to only relate to this post about the hotfix to fix them and without digging one could assume this bug is still on going, they could have even easily edited the post to confirm it was fixed.
Wait thats all it takes I should start with that now… maybe they will listen to my tickets instead of pointing me to wowhead, when Ive already explained of used this step and actually need customer service.

Ive seen some posts in discord about it, but that particular discord is a far reaching one so actual character names and achievement confirmations can’t be done.
Except blizzard is the one not informing players, its not on the hotfixes page, this post isn’t even at the very least edited to say that the fix went out. The only thing mentioned about the fix is the players saying that it is.
So not even going to say anything to the ones that have obtained these appearances and are arguing for their return.
or at least a couple of the people who had their appearances now stripped cause of this fix who have claimed to legitimately have earned it.
(I acknowledge my specific case of my demon hunter’s appearance being stripped is unique but i earned it had it stripped, and support gave me a because you can’t earn it again too bad so sad response.)
I do wonder how theyd feel if the appearances they worked and Blizz had taken them away without warning would they argue for them back?
I mean wouldn’t be the first time appearances just went poof.
what you haven’t completed on that character should still be greyed out though. (I don’t know if you have a UI Addon, and Ive never heard of one touching the achievement frame before, but doesn’t mean its non existent)

NO items should ever be time/skill limited. I do however think people that get it when it’s current should get a nicely colored achivement tab with golden borders and snowflakes, that has the expansion + date they aquired it. Then everyone else can get the same items later on, but just have a regular achievement tab and no FoS.

Joking aside we already have an achivement system for this, THAT WAS THE WHOLE PURPOSE OF THE ACHIVEMENT SYSTEM. We do not need flashy golden border the achivement is there… IT shows the day you did it and the reason for it. That is why I have said toxic elitist have no standing ground to ask for this to not be for everyone because there is nothint they can still show they did it. This is just proof timegating stuff will only createe toxic idiots who just want to brag and go “I got it and you did not and you can not ever have it”.

Their current reasoning went out the window when they added the spellwing and the chosen dead mogs back.
Their reasoning for why something wouldn’t happen, in general, and trusting that word went out the window with the following:
Timewalking
Chromie Time
Lorewalking
Classic WoW in all its form and its entirety
The last remix that brought back literally every single removed aspect from mists including the prepatch toys and mogs, with the only thing staying gone was the CM sets. Even the mount was brought back because you could get a recolor just for hitting 20.
Everything added to the BMAH that was removed. ZG mounts, T3, ZG recolors, the original ZG mogs and recipes. Scholomance. Naxxramas frost res sets. The zandalari 5 mill gold brutosaur, the 2 removed glory mounts. the list goes on
For this specifically, it ultimately matters less that it comes back during this and more that it comes back during legion classic and they allow cross-gamemode-cosmetics. Should this come to pass, you will have more people with this no matter what
And sorry doing it during antorus, whether it be during classic legion or original legion, makes the original difficulty statement invalid either way.
Unlike you, who have literally no precedent for why things cant happen except that they stood their ground on allowing the CM to be completed, we have a mountain of evidence of blizzard changing their mind. Like it just isn’t the same.

Am I the only one that finds it really frustrating that aside from the Blue post acknowledging it was a bug they haven’t made an official statement since to give the community a clear response on whether they will double down on their decision to keep them locked or find a way to bring them back in the future?
It feels like they’re actively avoiding it and just hoping it’ll go away and pretend like they didn’t accidentally rub salt into the wounds of everyone that’s been hoping these appearances come back.
Honestly, they should look at bringing it back. Preferably not as something that is free to get, but as another way to fully earn them. Even if they did it in a way of another challenge to obtain.

Make it possible to do the challenge again and get the rewards again, but don’t reward the achievement if you want to allow others to exhibit their prestige for internet points.

Except some people who were playing during Legion STILL couldn’t do Mage Tower challenges at the very end of the expansion with all the gear and buffed weapon.
