Mastery buffs that give a % do not get reduced by the 10% dr cap at 5400 i dont care about your mythic + or raid experience i just want to have a set that is usefull in pvp.
In pvp pets do nothing because they are all nerfed by 50% the set bonus is also nerfed by 50% so its a 2% damage increase in pvp vs a 10% mastery buff and another buff everytime we use a sudden doom proc.
I have pvped with the set we currently have, it still holds mega value regardless. Just because we dont have some sort of 1 shot in mechanic for arenas or pvp shouldn’t mean you think that having a bigger mastery pool is better for us when you take 20% verse out of your stats in pvp.
a 10% mastery buff in pvp with the sudden doom proc i believe it was 2.5% more is better than having a magus of the dead hit pets and do pad damage in pvp for 4k each and a 2% damage increase.
Also guess i can go do some mythic + in my pvp gear and give you my thoughts on whats good in pve for dk?
Versa is soft capped at 30% pvp players do not go over it we have around 40% in full pvp gear its no problem taking the tier sets now and the mastery buff does not have the 10-20% dr added onto it.
I’m not going to continue to beat the dead horse with whatever it is you are smoking with being sub 2k rating in pvp, you aren’t bringing any strong arguments to this forum but you’re crying over 1 singular aspect of the game when I am mentioning all 3.
Anyone pretending that any set is “better” numbers wise is a fool for not reading Blizzards messaging about all of this. THEY WILL TUNE THE TIER SETS. Which means you should vote based on gameplay first and foremost.
S3 has BY FAR the best gameplay implications and is the best choice. Great visuals and fantastic aoe support that we desperately need.

Im asking to be able to buy or have the pvp set bonus seperate does not matter what set bonus you have unholy is going to be bad in mythic + thats not the case for pvp the season 2 set bonus is by far superior to season 3 in pvp.
We also have a 1 shot mechanic and its all based of mastery and shadow damage with clawing shadow builds existing and wounds been buffed by around 100% in pvp.
UNfortunately we don’t get that choice in the matter when it comes to pvp/m+/raid, what I am trying to tell you is that majority of player base that plays unholy are going to vote for season 3 because of the enjoyed playstyle, people will vote season 3. Unless they rebuff gargoyle and PI season 2 will hold greater than any other season in DF but that isn’t the case here, people want big pew pew numbers and they will vote on the one that is going to give big pew pew numbers.
And a forum is there to voice opinions and ask for different things not just sit there and say it is what it is .
Pvp has had to suffer all xpac with some classes tier sets been completely useless in pvp we have our own pvp vendor and our own set of gear when it is put in the catalyst it should turn into a set that is viable in pvp not one that is nerfed by 50% baseline and then the ability it buffs is then nerfed by 66% in pvp again.
Well even right now in keys I do good damage when I have all my cd’s there really isn’t many specs that can beat me bursting for 1.5m damage on a pack but its not consistently number 1 and thats what it would take. I think what you said is as true as what I said it’s a combination. Either our damage has to be tuned so high that we are number 1 or they have to give up utility thats on par which what other people bring. buffing the damage would be a band aid fix and theres enough clunky old issues with our class that I think it warrants a rework or repolishing to give us that utility and make our rotations less clunky
All I can say is to try and take more utility into the group you are going with, AMZ, utilise grips more, smarter techniques on dodging mechanics and soaks, etc you have a great tool kit as a DD, bring it with you when you play and people will take you all the time. same goes for pvp. You are giving a complete kit to smash people and utilize the group around you, you just gotta play a little bit more big brain with unholy.
You mean the tier set which is a quick fix for our lack of cleave damage with only having dnd and dots the entire tier set should be worked into magus of the dead to always do aoe damage.
If you take a look at any other classes tier sets most of them are all to increase their damage not change how an entire spec works.
Pvp unholy and pve unholy are completely different specs some of the abilities are legit buffed by 200% + and others nerfed by 50%+ … there is no other class in the game that has this.
Welcome to playing a HERO class my friend, either change your playstyle or Reroll. we have copped this since wrath, we got hit hard in legion and we got hit hard in DF for all criteria’s of the game.
this only goes for dragonflight dark transformation in pvp is a 100% buff instead of a 200% buff in shadowlands/bfa/legion we had different builds but the builds didnt change this much and do completely different numbers you can not take the pet build in pvp because the pets are legit nerfed by 50-100%.
Where as scourge strike and festering wounds are buffed by 50-200%.
ALso i have changed my playstyle thats the entire point the new set bonus does not work with the pvp playstyle blizzard have forced because the pets deal 0 damage…
Even though i’m voting against you I want you to know I think its total BS they are making us vote against each other for a singular universal choice when we don’t even sit at the same table
Well we asked for them to remove the tier sets all together in pvp but they cant even do that.
Can’t help you out mate, I have no issue with any of the sets I have pvped with, some classes are just better than us when it comes to pvp or the player, but my vote is for season 3 sets entirely for the playstyle and current changes to our class based on our buffs and nerfs that blizzard have given to us.
Yes and i have asked for blizzard to reconsider letting pvp pick up the season 2 set or let us choose from all 3 when the patch actually hits it does not bother me which set wins but if we are to be forced to use a set bonus it should atleast be viable in pvp maybe if blizzard unnerfed magus of the dead in pvp it would be good but when its hitting.
15-20k shadowbolts in pve non crits
vs 4-6k shadowbolts in pvp non crits
and the 5% damage buff its only 2.5% its like a kick in the face.
You also have not even played pvp btw you have done a few shuffle at 1300 mmr in pve gear its ok for you to voice your opinion on the pve side but please dont type about things you have 0 clue about you have done it multiple times in this post.
Previous seasons I have played unholy, it’s boring and doesn’t have the throughput, why would I waste my time in a criteria I am not having fun in, I have played the class since wrath you’ve played in maybe DF. You have 0 clue what you are on about bud.
As i have said already you are free to use check pvp and look my characters up i have played for many years and have achieved r1 and glad multiple times.
It also shows your character with a max xp of 1500 in pvp you did not even achieve the minimum achievement of 1550 yet but you voice your opinion on unholy pvp.
