Hay, so I have played unholy play for most of the season, after lfging far too long to cap, and we have a horrible win percentage there. 10% yeah its pretty bad. Any advice would be much appreciated.
To start the dk will usually position himself on their side. The priest and I usually sit big tomb. We co-ordinate ccs but eventually lose momentum with no where that i can think of to recover. We can move to wagon or graves, but everyone just feel so next to each other. Would appreciate some ideas.
impossible to analyze your play and tell you whats wrong without footage of some games

Heres an example. Not exactly a loss but 1 that i saved to build on. Due note my partners are first time duelists. So any and all advice is very much appreciated.
Also worth mentioning my priest plays disc so he likes to position himself in healer spots. We are working that out because i cant heal the dk in the open to all ccs as a paladin.
so at 1:39 in that clip if you look to your right there is a headstone. that will offer you los from cc and you can pop out to. heal priest can stand on the tomb and the dk is fine where hes at. any melee have to travel if they want to swap making it very telegraphed. they need to be more aware of their movements and where you are because they are pulling you all over the place. cleansing the conflags can slow destro down a bit on their shard generation but it could leave someone in a fear. so keep fear DRs on your teammates in your mind and if they are on DR you can cleanse the conflag because if they do get feared it will only be short.
We do well into harvest cleave. But this arena is an issue and i want to get some ideas to share with my parters on ideal game play. My priest does panic a lot saying im dead im dead im dead. I think we could mind control a lot more in general. I personally want to play near the wagon but idk how ideal that really is.
i also dont see your focus target unless im missing it. even if you are just setting the healer as your focus and leaving it all game its better than not having one. try to coordinate dk stun onto kill target, you stun the other dps, priest silences healer and in that time you can holy shock and jduge the kill target priest and horror off his silence and you can follow that up with a repent on healer. stunning the off dps keeps the dots ticking and him unable to peel you guys. the stun on kill target makes it so you get as much dmg as possible without them able to use defensives or cc you back. clean cross cc chains are going to force trinkets and or cooldowns and they are short enough cd you can do them 2-3 times within a trinket or defensive cooldown. better cc chains and better positioning will keep the momentum in your favor. can even do the big cross cc chain while they are popping their CDs to slow damage and/or get trinkets since noone lieks to be cc’d on their cds then once their cds are done and your CC comes off CD you pop your cds and cross cc and they have no outs and you kill them
We have the cc chain down. I dont usually set focus. I dont use addons. I do have anrena macros for enemy and allies. I also do damage.
I was kind of hoping to get some position ideas. We cheesed our way to 2100 with me running avenging crusader with indomitable justice. Now im more of a healing spec to keep my priest alive. By the sound of it you think hoverin around the big tomb would be the most ideal situation. So you think we positioned right and have traded cds inappropriately vs most comps. That doesnt sound completely convincing why we have a low percentage.
i would need to see more games to see if there is a pattern. i think the priest stacking on you was bad but when you guys spread apart he went to the right spot you did not. playing on the side cart or the headstone is the play. it doesnt matter who is where but there has to be a gap between you. make swapping to you as inconvenient as possible. caster cleaves play in a triangle to make going from 1 to the next as punishing as possible where melee are doing no damage and they are getting pepper from every side. as a melee caster healer comp you and your priest should ideally be making the back side of the triangle while your dk is the point. make it a point to be vocal when your teams positioning or chasing is pulling you out into the open or into a dangerous spot.
Anyone who knows their rotation and how to cc can hit 2k. you can set up cc chains on healers and win games to a certain rating but then you need to start incorporate cross cc so their dps cant stop you while their healer is cc’d. Yes arena takes some mechanical skill but decision making is king here. every comp has a win condition you have to identify it, how to achieve it, and then do it while making it as hard as possible for the enemy to stop it. but everything starts with positioning, make yourself as hard to cc as possible. playing on the side makes the monk have to fully cross the map to para and leg sweep you and he can be swapped to or you can cc him before he gets to you and the lock would have an insanely hard time getting fears onto you. mind control spamming a lock on his dark soul might get a trinket but also kills their pressure. its a very under estimated because its so flexible and has many many applications similar to ring of peace it can be used offensively defensively or stopping a heal. can use it on someone low health like cloning them low so healer cc drs come off then you can swap cc to heal and kill them since they cant get healed while mc.
EDIT - if you are first time duelists and at the highest rating you have ever been you are playing at your current skill cap. you win % being 10% of how many matches ?. every few wins in a row they put you against a higher mmr team since the mmr system is saying you should be higher so its trying to give you test games that give you big mmr jumps if you win.maybe if all those games are on ruins and there is a small sample size it just is what it is. Bad setups, constant positioning errors, and playing at skill cap are almost certainly the cause of the low win%
Ok so you do like the cart as well. That was an example game. Not the cleanest. It was the only game i could find while at work, on my phone. Out best arena is hook point where its at 75% but RoL is our weakest link followed by black rook hold.
Thank you. And if anything comes to mind Im all ears.
a win is not the best way to find the issues. if you had a lose or 2 recorded you could post later its easier to find the mistakes that caused the loss
