getting 5k ms in classic and retail for the past 3 days
contacted my isp, checked my firewalls, flushed my dns, reset my router.
I am experiencing the same thing going on 7-10 days now. The world server lag is so bad no matter what zone I am in that the game is essentially unplayable. 500+ latency just isn’t very fun. I too have done all the “try this” advice and nothing is working. No other services or even other Bnet games seem to have this issue.
only having issues with WoW and hearthstone, only blizzard games.

I went ahead and merged your posts into your original thread.
Can you run a WinMTR for about 10 minutes while experiencing the lag in-game and then post that so we can see what the connection is doing?
- Download WinMTR
- Right-click on the downloaded .zip folder and select “Extract All”, to extract the files to a new folder.
- Open the new folder that was created, then open the WinMTR_x64 folder.
- Right-click on the WinMTR application and select “Run as administrator”.
- Type the IP address 24.105.62.129 in the “Host” field.
- Click on “Start” and then launch the game. Allow the test to run for at least 10 minutes. Click on “Stop” when you’re done playing after you have experienced the latency or connection issue.
- Click on “Copy Text to Clipboard”, paste the results here, then highlight everything and hit the </> button in the posting section so it will allow links.

Hey Zagara,
I don’t see any issues in the last WinMTR that you posted.
Are you experiencing the high latency in all parts of the game? Or is it just specific areas/zones?
Are you able to use a different network like a mobile data tether or a VPN to see if that stops it from occurring?
I only have the one line, it only affects WoW. It’s been an issue for 2 weeks now and as a tank and a healer it’s a massive issue.
If you’ve already tried the steps here, then I’d suggest a mobile hotspot or free VPN like Jambrix mentioned so you can compare the difference. If you don’t have a problem with the hotspot or VPN, then it’s likely an issue with the modem, ISP or route.
99% of the time it’s an issue at blizzard.
I have been experiencing the same issue no rhyme or reason. Just random and almost like Murphy at the most in opportune time. Have had it last as short as 5 minutes and as long as all day. Been close to three weeks now.
