Unholy in Dragonflight

What is the unholy play style looking like in DF? Is it still just zit popping and no damage outside the burst window?

Wondering the same

I wish Festering Strike hit harder. I think Feasting Strikes should further buff Festering Strike.

Other than that it feels good to me. There is s solid build for different styles. Can play ability damage, disease damage and pet damage. Mix and match how you like.

I prefer ability damage. Death Coil, Clawing shadows and popping wounds feel better now imho.

Unholy plays much more smoothly in dragonflight. More resources means you spend less time doing nothing. More focus on death coil but also lots of different cooldowns. Very high opening burst and at 3 minutes, otherwise relatively low sustained dps. Very fun Mythic+ rotation with Bursting Sores.

Ya I like the focus on death coil. I think it gives us much needed range. Still wish we didn’t have to have a pet.

Yeah i’d love an option to sacrifice the pet for maybe some buff to ourselves.

sustain was really good but havnt tested after the recent round of nerfs

I’m probably not playing optimally but I’ve been playing down the right hand side with superstrain. So much fun just overbuffing 3 diseases and smashing deathcoil compared to spamming festering lame and popping pimp points

Are you still liking it? I didn’t even think about not zit popping. I am heavy right hand side and loving death coil spam too. Are you doing clawing shadows for more range too?

I’ve tried both but I like the increased disease damage with super strain. I love it.

Sounds fun, mind sharing your build?

Here’s what I’ve been messing around with for current lvl 60.

It’s not min max probably but its fun for me.

I dont have to pound festering strike with other avenues of applying wounds available. I can stay in melee and pop Blight/abom limb inside of D&D and just watching everything die around me. I wish there was more synergy between Blight and Diseases for a more rot spec blend. Other option is to spec claw and just ranged pop on people.

Superstrain just reminds me of pre pimple combo points.

With Superstrain, do you get the secondary benefits of the other specs diseases as well?

Does the Superstrain version of Frost Fever give runic power? Does the Superstrain version of Blood Plague heal you?

Thanks! Definitely going to try this out.

Yes, yes, and yes.

They’re reduced effectiveness but they give the benefits.

I believe they’re 80% effective currently after a nerf. THey were 100% for a while but fun detected

Secondary Unholy question. Is there a consistent reliable way to apply festering wounds from range outside of the ghoul and DnD which both have a low proc chance?

I’m looking for a way to never have to go into melee range again. Lol

you can do it in PVP with the abomb, but im pretty sure PVE will always have melee ahead on dps because of the autoattack damage. we don’t gain anything with a ranged build, we just don’t lose that much when we have to play at range.
