Unholy DK Pvp Rotation

So i have doing lower level bgs on my level 41 DK, i looked up guides and what stats, Talents, and pvp talents matter. I have also tried to learn the unholy rotation. I am a little confused when it comes to spending runes and runic power. I hear you are suppose to get runic power to almost max then use dark trasformation, then Apocalypse and then spend the rest on Death Coil. I also hear that i need to max Festering Wound as well? One last question, when it comes to addons, is there a addon that helps highlight the current player your attacking?

generally you just stack synergistic cooldowns in order based on what the spell does and how long it lasts.

what spell you actually press in what order depends entirely on what build you go with, which is itself dependent on what kind of pvp you are doing and what comp/situation you are facing.

for example, if unholy blight lasts 18 seconds, and dark transformation lasts 15 seconds, you will want to open with fester twice into apoc, then hit unholy blight, then wait till it hits 4 stacks, then hit dark transformation, then you would hit unholy assault because it lasts 12 seconds, and by hitting it last your pets will benefit from all 12.

but… thats not a hard set in stone thing, pvp is chaotic and saying “just hit your spells in order” ignores the 800 other things going on that you have to deal with, so sometimes you need to open with unholy assault then hit apoc just for the burst and getting your resource flow going and sometimes you need to abandon your big offensive moment to go rescue your teammate.

the important thing is to remember how our spells interact and synergize with each other so that even if you have half your abilities available, you know which to hit in which order and when to hit them.

The rotation changes on what you are looking to do.
If you are looking to burst hard and get max stacks of necrotic for big healer pressure it would look something similar to this. (at max lvl)
Festering to 4 stacks of wounds. DT Apoc, Unholy blight, Unholy Assault, spam clawing shadows to pop the 4 wounds you just added from UA.

The reason for this is to help buff your pets. Your pets from Apoc will not receive the haste bonus from unholy assault if you pop it before they are out. You want to have 4 stacks of wounds on the target before hitting Apoc so you can get 4 stacks of necrotic right away. Unholy Assault not only will give you the haste buff, but your pets as well. And it gives 4 stacks of wounds as well which can be bursted with clawing shadows spam for max rank of necrotic wounds. If you happen to have a friend with a MS effect on them as well, it forces the healer to pop cds or the person is going to die.
Add strangulate in there on their healer and you force some nice CD trades.
