Hi,
I started pushing 16+ mythic keys this week and I wanted to make sure I was using the best gear I have in my bags. With that being said does anybody know how much Haste you should run in mythic +? I can’t seem to get a number and when I looked at other peoples builds they are all over the place. Some of the higher end DKs have 20% haste and some run like 14% Haste with 20% crit. I was running 20% with 52% mastery, but would like to drop down to 14% with 64% mastery.
I wouldn’t drop too much in Haste since it’s our most important stat for Single Target. 20% sounds alright to me
there’s no magic number to shoot for then accrue another stat. haste is the best to keep stacking. a decent amount of crit gives more “big numbers”. and mastery helps the regular numbers rise.
This might help if you aren’t using it. It’s not perfect, but it’s also not too bad.
Play around with the simulation options when you get to the bottom to really tweak things into where you want to evaluate.
More haste means more runes and more auto attacks which is where our damage primarily stems. As such, stacking it up to a certain point is really good. I would not recommend dropping down below 14% because the rune regeneration speed is so incredibly important.
After that, crit would be good and then mastery then versatility.
UHDK has it tricky compared to other specs where a singular stat is desired until X point, but UHDK has to weigh it relative to the other ones so sometimes, a mastery piece is better than a crit piece.
I’d do what Lorsaire said and sim it all out to figure out where your stat values are laying currently and adjust accordingly.
Worst case scenario, stack haste.
Did you read the title? He’s talking about M+. Mastery is still very powerful for AoE.
Even aside from that, you should be simming regardless. Feelycrafting your stats is a good way to be suboptimal. Don’t guess, know.
I would not recommend obeying an arbitrary rule about Haste, or any stat. We’re not in Legion, upgrade priorities have shifted, and tools at your disposal are much more powerful for accurately determining your best gear. If you’re curious you can sim for stats, but you ordinarily sim to compare the gear you have.
@OP-
If you have more specific questions or want some solid resources, make your way to the Acherus Discord.
It is why I stated WORST case. Primarily because of all the stats, Haste tends to scale the most linearly where as the other stats are relative to the others.
It isn’t arbitrary. Haste is the best stat up to a certain point, and then the other values gain weight because moving from 5% haste to 10% haste is a 100% increase in the gain you received, but going from 10% haste to 15% haste is only a 50% gain. Hence my statement, Haste is the “safest” one to stack until you’re appropriately geared.
Thanks for all the information!!! Let me get the Mr robot account to check my bags. I think the question I ment to ask what is your stats? What stats do you pick in your unholy build for mythic +? I see people all over the place and I’m trying to understand if haste is king why do i see the top Unholy DK’s running low haste and some running high haste. I have been siming the crap out of all over the gear I have and yet I still have not come up with the magic number.
Mythic + is inherently a difficult environment to simulate. Both hast and mastery are generally a safe bet. Mastery sims highest in AoE followed by Haste, and Haste sims highest in Single Target. Therefore, going Haste Mastery gives you a balanced build in any dungeon.
after looking a the MR build it seems to be close to 15.5%Haste

going to sim this and see what happens.
I would generally not use Ask Mr Robot for simulations. There has been issues with their sims in the past
it’s been spot on for me when comparing the results to raidbots… but i give AMR the 12 bucks a year for the bonus features.
just yesterday, i top geared my dh to see. raidbots showed the same setup for 51dps higher.
good enough in my book.
Yah I paid the 12$ and it was worth it!!! They give you like 20 build best in bags and I took a mastery built as well as looked at crit build and all build showed 15.5 haste. I ran a mythic + 15 SOB and clear with like 4 min left which was my best time and end up being top dps for overall. They all so had me change 2 things, switch to a second hell-chains and switch to the engineering helm with which I think make up for a lot of haste. Most pulls last about 10-15 sec if that so there does not seem to be a need for a lot of hast because you’re really only using two to three sets of runes per pull.
There are quite a lot of things that I disagree with here.
First of all, helchains isn’t usually the best option for Mythic +. The ideal setup would be triple Festermight, double Magus and a single Tradewinds. This gives you a nicely balanced setup between single target and AoE.
Always be careful about causation versus correlation. I’d be surprised if your slightly different build had much to do with your overall throughput in the dungeon you ran. Furthermore, if you’re not top overall as Unholy in pretty much any dungeon, you haven’t played the class properly.
10-15 seconds per pull sounds way too little. Haste isn’t all about generating runes. It also shortens the GCD, allowing you to use more GCD in the same amount of time. Furthermore, it increases your pet’s energy regen which leads to more overall wound pops.
I’d recommend watching this video:
yall thinking too much on this; put on 3 azerite pieces with festermight, equip your best gear, and rings with haste>crit>mastery with the MOST stats and your ready to rumble.
I am sorry, but +5 for “Feelycrafting.”
