Unholy dk hero talent question

Hows the hero talent thats not the one that lets you mount in battle?

I havent played my DK since hitting max level and was curious how the other talent tree worked. The summoning the 4 horsemen wasnt as cool as it sounded and felt weak

Sanlayn is pretty good. I tried the other one, but it barely felt like I had hero talents. All of it was pure chance. And the whole riding the horse sounds a lot better than it is, especially when you realize it goes away in caves and such.

Ya but having deaths advance turn into an upgraded version of divine steed turns dk into one of the most mobile classes which is nice

It is broken in WPvP, since it allows you to fight at mount speed in combat but if things go south you can summon ANY mount while in combat and just fly away.

How does San’layn play is it less random than the other? And the name would emply they are a more tanky dps since they are supposed to be the immortal soldiers

Outside of Army of the Dead, the Horseman are summoned randomly, and as there’s four Horseman with unique traits you have a 25% chance of a particular thing occurring.
It means you have to react more than plan.

Eh. From a PVP perspective the RNG Anti-Magic Shells make Riders of the Apocalypse super tanky.

Its pretty insane tbh.
It has a higher damage potential and more consistent damage than sanlyn.
I was hopeful they would be more even so I could play sanlyn, but burst and aoe with horsemen is insane.

It’s pretty tanky. You get self healing and haste baked into vampiric strike, which replaces scourge strike. And you get a burst. I found it easier to maintain and more predictable, but apparently others would prefer to have to adjust to 1 of 4 different summons. With Sanlayn, you build up diseases and go crazy during dark transformation, self heal in between. Barely have to move when doing something like delves.

If you prefer to focus on your summons and be reactionary, stick with Rider. It’s not my main. I play DK for fun, so I’m not reading guides and building for high end stuff. I couldn’t care less if Sanlayn does less damage in raids or M+ than Rider.
