Hi guys just curious about Unguent caress as I’ve been running a few sims on my character and it shows that my 430 raid finder Unguent caress is swimming higher than even a 455 bile-stained crash tusks. Is it really that good? Or am I running the sims wrongly.
its because of the corruption effect on it hits a lot harder and more frequently then the dot stacking up to 3 times.

Itemlevel on corrupted items is much less relevant or useful than it was before corruption, especially when comparing a corrupted item against a non-corrupted one. I got a set of 460 non-corrupted bracers on my rogue and it was literally a 10% DPS loss over my 445’s with the tentacle corruption. The weapon corruptions in particular are fairly powerful. Raidbots has been telling me for a while that the raidfinder version of the Carapace dagger is better than my 460 from Wrathion for a while now.

Also, the DoT effect on the Tusks comes at the cost of secondary stats, while the corruption mechanic is “free” in terms of itemlevel. ~150 secondary stats isn’t make-or-break, but it definitely contributes.
