New Spreist, I’m level 47 despite what the character shows and have been playing around with first talent row.
I’ve noticed my damage, single target is much better with unfurling due to the damage on the free cast hits harder than Mind Blast and gives the same insanity.
I guess my question is, is this due to most of my big boss fights lasting about a min long on some of the tougher rares? Icy viens tells me Fortress of the Minds should be better for single target but it’s coming up short at the moment on details.
Unfurling Darkness is waaaay better than FoM.
Not only the proc hits really good but also helps you spread your dots on multiple targets if needed (Better if you have Misery Talent).
It also gives you some kind of mobility to be able to put your dots in a single GCD instantly.
Fortress of the mind will be better at level 60 end game raiding for sure. Unfurling is good now because everything dies in seconds.
I’m in the same boat, it seems to be really good single target damage but I’m unsure how best to incorporate it in a damage rotation.
Usually I’ve been doing: VT, MB, Flay, DT procs (if any), VT, MB, and then Void Explosion if it’s necessary. That way I make better use of the VT duration. But that delays getting in to my void form so I’ve considered just VT twice in a row.
