Yeah, it’s odd it sounds like “people who use google and YouTube have an advantage.”
okay so like 99.99% of the world

That’s just an opinion, you’re free to have it but that does not make it fact.
Well, no. If someone disagrees then there is no logic in your opinion.
yeah addons don’t kill people so terrible analogy. devils advocates are so boring. if someone willingly wants to play addon-less they are accepting they are at a disadvantage.
Pretty sure they meant it against their combat situations. Everyone should experience the same combat, with the same interface, and the same options. Some gamers who have no money are playing on 10 year old laptops where addons would kill the experience. So they have no way of keeping up with someone running a high end machine and 5 very helpful addons that show and tell them everything, giving them the upperhand to move, or soak at the right moments.
It’s a bit like sci-fi. If the AI in your ship can account for everything and react in a split second, but the other guy’s ship is older, and slower, and it is all manual, They have a distinct disadvantage. Same thing with addons. Who does better in +15s? The person with DBM, WA, and ElvUI, or the guy on the laptop with no addons? Just my opinion.
This is a conclusion, not an argument
We can all access curseforge.com
It’s really common sense. Are you saying that players should be able to obtain advantages by downloading addons?
That’s a pretty weird take.
sorry but this is a bad analogy. if theyre on a 10 year old comp then they’re having lower fps, more lag, having to turn off certain graphical effects that they literally cannot help so theyre at a disadvantage already. they can download hekili or weakauras though way more easily than they can upgrade their hardware
But that’s the point of add-ons is to have some advantage the base game doesn’t give us.
Just like farmhud helps me farm nodes easier… And everyone can download it and use it
Yes actually, just because you find it weird does not make it weird. I personally find your anti-addon sentiment weird but then I suppose you don’t get to community council without being a yes man to blizzard.
i think what the unfair advantage means is that some people don’t know how to install addons
Addons should not trivialize or make content easier. If you need the game to be easier, you can just do easier content.
I’m not anti addon. I just don’t think they should make content easier. Displaying information or changing the UI is one thing. Trivializing content is another.
Oh, and the community council thing is irrelevant.
Blizzard are just under an NDA with Microsoft and can’t admit the changes are to prepare WoW for Xbox.
It’s that simple.
That’s an external source, not included in the game, so not everybody has the same access to it.
it’s literally the take blizzard has taken since wow launched. the approach you consider ‘obvious’ hasnt even gone live yet lmao.
you can stop replying to this thread, i have no interest in discussing with you anymore. disingenuous devils advocate yawn. actually do whatever you want, i’m ignoring you so i wont’ see it
I don’t buy that at all. Let’s try another, “If they are cheating, then I should too.” or “Everyone is doing it so it must be okay”.
both terrible analogies lmao
Boring, right?
You explicitly are actually but go off.
Is in every way making the game easier. When I hide a blizzard ui element that I find gets in the way I am doing so to make the game easier. When I change nameplates or raid frames to be more readable I am making the game easier. When I download a chat addon so I can copy text and edit text in the comment box easier… yeah.
Again, no. If the community council thing wasn’t supposed to mark you then it wouldn’t do the task of marking you.
‘everyone is doing it so it must be ok’ has absolutely no metaphorical or analagous relevance to the debate at all, i have no idea why you even said that.
‘if they are cheating i should to’ is also terrible because its referencing bad actors. addons have always been allowed and will continue to be allowed, so no one was a bad actor.
your arguments are bad too, adding you to the ignore list
