Unexpected Error's since 11.2

Since the release of patch 11.2, I have been experiencing constant crashes where the game abruptly closes and a message box appears stating:
“The application has encountered an unexpected error.”

The error details specifically mention a Heap_corruption and reference ntdll.dll.

To troubleshoot, I have:

  • Completely removed all addons
  • Ensured all my drivers (graphics, chipset, etc.) are fully updated
  • Uninstalled and reinstalled World of Warcraft from scratch

Despite these steps, the crashes persist consistently.

This issue severely impacts gameplay and I’m hoping Blizzard can investigate and provide a fix as soon as possible. If anyone else is experiencing this or has suggestions, I’d appreciate your input.

This same thing is happening to me, I’ll be monitoring this thread to see if you get a response.

Thanks, it’s good to know im not the only one. If you look into the error’s folder is yours caused by Heap_Corruption too? Very curious but the game has been unplayable since the patch release for me.

Yeah it is. Unfortunately I have no idea what that means

Having the same issue. Lets see if there is a hardware match between us all.

Head to your Wow installation_retail_\Errors folder. There will be the crash files there. Open up one of the .exe files and check to make sure it’s saying “HEAP_CORRUPTION” as the Exception that causes the crash. Head to the bottom of the text file and past the system specs it is reporting.

So not 100% sure if i have figured out how to fix the problem, but i was able to run a delve without it crashing so that’s a first. But i did a full uninstall of the game and battle net, and when we searched my computer there was a folder still left that was called “blizzard entertainment” , Long story short, we deleted everything named blizzard, did another fresh install, and so far it appears to be working.
