Undocumented sky riding changes?

so i have noticed my mount will auto move to horizontal some times when trying to angle my mount seems like their is a 10 degree zone where it will go level or angle down way to much and cause to to get to land faster not allowing me to charge vigor easily when gliding, has anyone else noticed this?

Yes. It sucks.

I don’t think it’s a sky riding change. Go and try it in old zones and you shouldn’t notice it. What I think is happening is that draft that we encounter at the very beginning of the XPAC exists in some places.

Its very likely a bug since sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesnt.

It even happens to me on static flying mounts where ill be locked horizontally and have to move my camera far enough to snap out of it.

Check your camera settings.

It’s gotta be a bug. It started happening on the 11.0 release (Dragonflight). It only happened on some races but if the race was affected it would always happen and was very noticeable. Now it seems to be just a random occurrence upon mounting up.

Dismounting and remounting seems to fix it, but it’s annoying.

To me it feels like it affects certain mounts a lot more than others. Some just don’t like to angle down. It never happens on any of the original “dragon” mounts, only previous ones that have been redesigned for dragon-riding.

It happens sometimes, but I think it’s a bug because if you just remount it won’t happen again.

This is a bug introduced with skyriding in 11.0. I always find it happens if I mount up while in water or am nearby water.

yeah, but its on and off for me. i dont think its intended.

Static flying used to have a functionality where mounts would level off on water surfaces if you auto-flew into them so you could skim the surface. The bug is almost assuredly tied to that old functionality considering it only happens when I mount near a water surface.

yeah ive been getting this too. it’s extremely annoying, especially when it happens during a dragon race. i frequently have to restart

OMG, I actually thought this was intended. I have been using my old Turbo-Charged Flying Machine, and I thought they made it a bit janky on purpose because this thing feels old & busted.

It does it during flight swimming too. I fly up super high and slightly angle down and let go of my mouse and after a second, it will realign to horizontal. They really want to impede our travel any way they can manage

This only happens rarely, and it seems to only be in certain areas. It’s really odd. I wonder if it’s connected to those currents that give you max speed and boost you between the underground zones.

Im still using one of the dragon mounts from DF its my default mount this almost always happens you could glide forever when high enough now i can barley make it thru one zone and im landing, i never changed my camera setting they have been the same for years
