I mean you do everything else right, with making the storyline that we access Nazjatar by making the water simply magically go away, but then you give us an underwater boss that’s crazy people don’t like underwater combat that’s the only reason people hated Vash’jir (I only didn’t like Vash’jir on my first playthrough, I love it now)
I can see this boss being the Raid Breaker, but it would be interesting to see a full 3D Combat Boss.
If you wanted a piece of yarn to tie that crown to your head so it doesn’t float away down there, all you had to do is ask, not make a post about how underwater bosses are crazy.
All I know is this is going to be hilarious on lfr.
As long as they properly implement the bits you’re supposed to swim to, I don’t really see the problem.
I love the idea, personally. In normal raiding we are limited to lateral movement but in water we would have up and down as well as side-to-side. The game needs the challenge of such differing environments; hell, I’d love to see another raid boss where we float and fight.
Bring challenge and adaptability back into the game, I say.
Oh I agree with you, but in this case I know for me it works and I personally love it but most people don’t
I think some people have that attitude because of Vash’jir, where almost everything you did was in water. Having a raid fight out of all the activities in water is a bit different from having the entire zone underwater. It all depends on how its handled, of course.
Based on T&E’s description it seems this is more a gimmick than a raid mechanic. The only swimming you will be doing is during phase transitions. During the actual combat you will be standing in one spot drilling the boss who is also stationary. Not a huge challenge.
Like the Oculus wasn’t good enough (or bad enough for some people)…
Hmm, all the most maligned and hated instance fights in the game have 3D combat. Surely they’ll get it right this time!
I’m never going to like underwater anything because of original Mario on NES. Never.
Elune forbid Blizzard tries something new.
I really need to figure out how to Mute you
Good luck!
It’s literally a stationary boss and the only ‘mechanic’ is that you swim from platform to platform and it’ll be wise to stand on the platform so you can get the buffs.
You’ll also have a bubble over your head so breath ain’t the issue…
And druids are going to rock on that, especially the tanks.
Its not a 3d combat boss.
it’s really tough to trust depth perception in a game. Z axis will give a lot of people trouble, other than ranged.
I predict much butthurt on the forums after this fight goes live.
You haven’t even seen it yet.
Surely they won’t just do a swim around version of a raid. Surely they know better than that.
