Underwater breathing and death knight 🤔

so a death knight is a dead person that necromantic magic turns into an undead, wich means the the dk is still technically dead, so then why do they have to breathe underwater?

Regular Undead also had to breathe for many years before Blizzard realized that made no sense lol

Blizzard doesn’t keep consistency at all…

Undead don;t need to breath and can stay underwater indefinitely…BUT an arrow their chest/‘lung’ will kill them.

It’s just a hot mess really

Saronite kills the Undead.

It might be headcanon I picked up in wotlk for whatever reason but I was under the impression that DKs were raised differently, with magics that preserved them better and kept them from rotting and what-not.

Always assumed they just needed to breathe due to that.

Also, doesn’t The Lich King’s model have a breathing animation? (Did he ever technically die even?)

Water logging. It’s why undead and death knights don’t need to breathe air, but they can’t stay in the water forever.

Can you even imagine becoming water logged? It would be terrible.
