Understanding Developer Perspectives for Collaborative Improvement

Greetings Blizzard Development Team,

I’m reaching out to you, with a sincere desire to understand your perspective on the game’s rated PvP aspects, and to initiate a dialogue that I hope can become more inclusive and collaborative. This forum is filled to the brim with what the players see to be various issues and improvements we’d love to see in rated PvP, but this conversation is incredibly one-sided. I’d like to bridge this gap and gain a better understanding of your views.

Please share with us:

  1. Your Perspective: What do you see as the current key issues within WoW’s rated PvP experience?
  2. Areas of Attention: Which aspects of rated PvP are you focusing on, and what are your priorities for future updates?
  3. Developer Concerns: What are the specific challenges or constraints you face in balancing and enhancing the rated PvP experience?
  4. Potential Areas of Collaboration: What areas in relation to rated PvP do you think could benefit from community feedback or involvement? How can we, as players, contribute constructively to this process?
  5. Player Feedback Reflection: From the plethora of player feedback, what key issues and suggestions have stood out to you, and why do they seem particularly significant?

Having this insight will help the community understand the complexities of rated PvP development better and may help the direction of our future feedback. It would foster a more constructive dialogue and might even open avenues for community collaboration in improving the rated PvP experience.

Thank you for your hard work and dedication to World of Warcraft as a whole. I look forward to hearing from you and understanding more about your approach to evolving and enriching the game’s rated PvP.

Regards,
Vloshko

P.S. Should the developers choose to respond and subsequently lock the thread, I see this as a potentially positive approach. If that occurs I ask that the community concentrate exclusively on the content of their response, and disregard the action of locking the thread. This method might help encourage direct, unfiltered views from the developers, aligning with my primary objective of gaining clear understanding. My intention is to use their feedback as a foundation for increasing thoughtful future discussions and collaborative efforts within the community.

P.P.S. Conversely, if the thread remains open post-response, I would perceive that as a signal for an opportunity for continued dialogue. In such a scenario, I would anticipate and appreciate ongoing engagement from the developers, fostering a dynamic exchange of ideas, feedback, questions, and explanations.

P.P.P.S. I understand that a direct response from Blizzard on this forum is unlikely. If any Community Council member finds this post relevant and would like to share it in the “WoW Community Council” forums, you have my full consent to do so.
I kindly request that the entire content of the post, including this and the above “Post Sends” (P.S., P.P.S., and P.P.P.S.), remains unchanged to preserve the intent and context of my inquiry.

The forums aren’t really meant to be used as a one-to-one way to communicate with Blizzard developers. The forums are more so meant for player-to-player discussions.

Then what’s the purpose of the community council forum?

To offer a place where players can leave focused and narrowed feedback. This isn’t the community council forum. Nor is every post in the community council forum responded to by a developer alone.

The forums should be a place where players and dev interact. Feedback should be listened to and taken with a grain of salt obviously but not everyone is entirely wrong or off course with game observations and suggestions.
