Underpin ? ? Survival Hunter Solo Feedback/Tips

Allright. Item Level 652. Sentinel Survival Hunter. I won’t claim to be a “Great” hunter, but I am generally a good one.

A few minutes ago I managed to beat Underpin on ?? solo with survival hunter.

I wanted to give some tips/feedback while its still fresh in my head as i will never be doing this fight again most likely.

For context, I beat Zekvir ?? in just under 15 tries I believe.

This boss took me just over 70 tries.

Feedback Portion - Some of the telegraphs need work.

A: The Flamethrower ability could really use a hollow cone to indicate safe distance.

B: The Magma orbs the adds shoot have a line aoe, unfortunately this aoe does not extend across the map, meaning that if you have an add alive on the other side of the arena and your near a wall, the line tapers out before it reaches you, surprise ball to the back of the head.

C: The falling bombs have a swirly aoe, thats good, the downside is its color is close enough to the aoe of the expiring bomb and the line aoes that they can cover eachother up. A number of my deaths were to surprise falling bombs. A clearer distinction would result in a lot less “I can’t even see it” deaths.

Brann: The fact that your reliant on Branns rng on where he throws the potions is very frustrating, too many times ive watched him toss them into line aoes. Or right next to expiring bombs. Or he throws them right as I have to sprint across the arena so I leave my healing behind in order to handle mechanics. Having to choose between healing and mechanics is awful when you as a dps are tanking the boss.

The only other real pain point I think is the tar. I am unsure why its there other than to turn an already dangerous moment into rage inducing frustration. Most of the time you won’t notice it, when you do its cause your dead.

Now for Tips: First, I normally play pack leader, but I HAD to swap to sentinel for this fight. Lunar storm was 11.5 % of my damage on its own.

Second, I really recommend the turret factory thing from Bran, one of those puts a shield on you which did save my rear in a few situations.

Third, Aspect of the turtle can be a life saver but if you want to capitalize on it you can use it to protect yourself as you punt bombs into adds. Which leads me to the fourth.

Fourth, Adds are the highest possible priority aside from burning the shield. If you can punt balls while kill the shield at the same time. DO it. Aspect of the eagle lets you run around and keep up damage on the boss, good timing on eagle is what made it possible for me.

Fifth, Take healing potions. Seriously, the last thing you need is to be praying for Brann to save you when hes busy chucking your potions next to a dead add, the dead adds do aoe burning damage by the way.

Sixth, if your damage is good, save bloodlust until the final 15% then just say screw the adds and burn the boss while dodging fire.

If anyone has any questions on specific mechanics, feel free to ask. I would gladly let someone do this in fewer tries.

Great post, I would just add a great Utility Curio is L00T RAID-R. At rank 4 every 30secs it’ll add a 10% more damage taken debuff for 15secs

how much time was the whole fight?

Didn’t time mine but probably 6-7mins?

What Asyn said sounds about right. I’ve slept since the fight so I can’t be 100% certain. I can confirm its less than a bloodlust cooldown and there were times I completely ignored the boss to focus on adds before pushing him to the next shield state.

At what ilevel ?

Couldn’t remember so I had to find an old post where I talked about Zekvir. I was probably at JUST over 600 (like in the 600-605 range) when I killed Zekvir ? ? I remember being relieved because they were about to nerf him and I wanted to kill him before that.

Edit: tried to repost this as a reply and it just bugged out the forums. realized it was already set as a reply >.< gods I don’t like this interface.
