i have started bashing my face against underpin??
it seems that the original bugs with bombs showing up in the stands have been fixed but I think there is still some funky RNG on where adds spawn on the opposite end of the arena.
but i am looking for a good guide on how to try to position the bomb drops and then attempt to bait the adds properly.
i know that you need to keep the boss pretty close to the edge and continue to work down the fencing, but I keep getting stray adds VERY far away from the others.
and I also spend so much time kicking bombs and what not that I get very little time on the boss. So far, the most damage i have done is down to about 84-85%.
Bomb hard and fast, sooner adds are down the sooner you can get back to wailing on the boss. All adds should be down before the next wave drops.
Push as much damage as you can in the beginning. Getting him to start his shield phase before spawning the second wave of adds (pretty much drop his HP to 80% either before or just a few seconds after he hits 100 Energy) makes the fight timings a lot easier, you want the shield to happen while adds are dead.
Stay away from the middle and try to use corners, move far enough from destroyed adds that the next wave won’t try and spawn any where a recently destroyed add was (and thus spawn it on the opposite side). You can throw down some markers to roughly space out where you want the boss standing to bait the adds.
When adds are dead there’s very little to dodge but as always, focus on survival instead of damage. Kicking bombs and destroying adds is a number one priority which makes damage to the shield easier which then makes damage to the boss easier. Falling a little behind in damage might make things take longer but getting hit or failing to keep up with the adds will kill you.

Cronies spawn in the 5 nearest available slots to the boss. There are a few caveats.
A slot is not available if there’s a living or dead crony in that slot. If one of the 5 nearest slots is unavailable in this way, you will get one in a really bad spot… not the next-nearest spot.
The spawns will frequently skip a slot so you can’t kill all 5 with the same bombs. I don’t think you can do anything about this.
The logic around what slots are closest to the boss gets a little fuzzy near the rounded edges of the map. Best to stay where the walls are straight.

yeah i can see this in action.
what makes this “skip” worse is that I know that I have moved enough along the wall for the adds, but I hadn’t truly factored in the “skip” which could put the add into an unavailable slot and then who know where it will spawn…

I’ve found that it’s perfectly fine to leave one add alive if it’s standing out there in Antarctica. Especially if it means you get more time on Underpin, just be sure to kick away any leftover bombs so they don’t get in your way.
Just drag the boss over to it and hopefully the next batch of adds will hop down next to the survivor so you can clear them all in one fell swoop with fresh bombs.
All about prioritizing things.
