I have been away from WoW due to IRL issues. And I missed out entirely on Season one and now season 2. So I’m just getting back.
First off holy hellfire gearing is fast. went from 581 ilvl (one week prior to raid opening) to 651 in LESS THAN A DAY. On top of that I pushed some keys got a 10 done and I’m sitting at 1800 rating. plenty of time to get that 2k done and then push the 10s in the interim.
As I’m catching up on the missed story bits (my poor quest log) I get to Undermine. Holy. Crap.
Im from up North here in the USA. Although I live in Florida now ill always be a City boy at heart. Lemme tell tell getting off in the Goblin equivalent of Grand Central had me all giddy like a kid again.
The story is phenomenal, the vibes are amazing, the overall NPCs in general are great ( HEY IM WALKIN HERE!) I could gush about this one area for hours.
I have ADHD as well lemme tell ya, I spent 30 mins kick a friggan can dude. Wish there were other players around and we can get a game going of street soccer.
I truly really do love Undermine. I hope the starting zones get an uplift and the gobbys can start out here in their capital even.
Gonna get back to it but i wanted to come drop this appreciation post for Undermine. I can’t say much for the rest of TWW just yet but you guys hit the jackpot with Undermine in my book.

Somehow this is still a complaint for people but yeah it goes by in a flash all the way to 660ish. Slows down a bit after that as your best option for increasing ilvl at that point is mythic track from vault and saving your gilded crests for crafting.
Welcome back though man! Not a huge fan of UM/Goblins myself but glad you are enjoying what you’ve got on your plate.

It’s a COMPLAINT? Less than a Day man I jumped 70 ilvls and I’m pushing 10s lol. Different strokes, I guess.

Nah I wasn’t saying it was a complaint from you. I just see a lot of people complaining about how slow gearing their alts is.

Undermine was cool for a while, but after 5 months, I’m ready to move onto the next content patch.
They just don’t know how to do it. I started my alts out in veteran gear that I purchased with undercoins. Then I spammed delves for crests and filled non-tier slots with 661 crafted gear. Just 2 weeks of 11s for a crafted 681 weapon. Spammed LFR for dinars to buy BiS trinkets. NP getting to 660.

Easily one of the best zones ever created. For goblin fans, that zone is practically heaven.

Had a lot of fun in Undermine. Shame the story was bad, but that’s just how the modern WoW story is, these days.
Zone felt good, sounded amazing, and looked cool as hell. Only thing I would change is have us fly in the zone. D.R.I.V.E. ain’t it, chief.

I think what they were going for was to make the town look like a busy Las Vegas town. Think of all the cars going up and down a city. If everyone was flying nobody would be using the cars. It would definitely detract from the vibe of the area. Or at least not be as good as it otherwise would be.

Im just getting to the revolution part so i think im almost done. Im not really getting the disdain for the zone personally.
Different strokes though you know? Ive loved my time questing out here entirely. Im from Jersey personally but I had family across the bridge in NY proper. My older brother still lives up in the Bronx area.
It really did remind me of like home tbh. Almost like Atlantic city.

Have you met this playerbase?
It’s always “faster, faster, faster!” with WoW players as a whole. I honestly would not be surprised if Blizzard straight up mailed players their BiS gear the moment they hit the level cap in Midnight, only to have players complain that it should have been sent to them five levels earlier.

I like Undermine, I visit with my Goblins but they’re always happy to leave the many overflowing dumpsters behind, family is important, so is not dying from toxic fumes waiting for Momma to make green tea, that shouldn’t be green.

They did a good job with undermine, I agree.

The zone itself is very adequate to the theme, the NPCs are charming, side quests are neat, but too bad the vibe is not my thing.
I’m glad I’m likely never returning there after the rep farm is done.

I finished the questline for undermine, Gallywix got off way too easy imo.

The music! It’s so perfect. I’ll just hang out there waiting for queues feeling like I’m in a bad spy flick and i love every second of it.

I’m glad someone is enjoying Undermine but I am totally mentally checked out with the rep grinds and then the paragon chest EXTRA rep grind on top of it. Legion-style paragon chests are a good idea in general but the MOUNT-SPECIFIC thing of it has me wanting to commit acts of violence.
Also, the architecture is suffocating. And being in combat preventing me from mounting up again because ONE thing aggro’d and look, they brought in buddies. JUST LET ME OUT OF THIS FRICKIN’ AREA, YOU LITTLE…
Keep enjoying it; I’m not the fun police. I just wish I liked it past the initial campaign doing the story for the FIRST time and not think about the superfluous aspects of the content which just annoy the absolute heck out of me that does NOT involve me simply abandoning it outright.

I give you another month before you are crying just how boring it really is

For me, Undermined is my favorite patch in a post Shadowlands era. I liked the story. I like the gameplay. I like environment. I enjoy DRIVE as well. And the music is to die for.

This seems like a bit of a gross over exaggeration.
Undermine was fine, probably the best thing in TWW so far. “Phenomenal” though? Lets pump the brakes a bit. It was quite atmospheric, they nailed the goblin look and feel quite well.
The general feel of the npc’s and story works to retcon goblins a bit in ways I didn’t care for. Moving them away from the greedy eccentric amoral chaotic neutral toward adapting a more “modern day” world view collectively.
The raid was pretty cool, really enjoyed LoU. The bosses were very cool and the mechanics matched thematically very well. Was a fun raid.
Lets not get hyperbolic about it all though.
