I just think Undermine would’ve been the perfect opportunity to add a casnio to WoW. The Undermine just seems like the kind of place that would have a casino.

Yes, yes it would. In fact that is a great idea. The game loves having gamblers in it, not sure why they have never put one in.

This game is already one of the most addictive, hard to break - toxic girlfriend burns your clothes - level of attachment to A BIG percentage of the population. Especially my geriatric generation, who is over 35.
You do not need to add yet another layer of rapidly degenerative gameplay that may quickly slide into massive token purchases to feed the gambling addiction. Cause let’s be real, a casino without spending gold in it, is not a casino.

I think Europe might be ruining this for us.
I know Pokemon had to stop doing Casinos because Europe has very strict gambling laws and they’d lose their E for everyone.
I think wow is T for Teen isn’t it? I’m not familiar enough with the laws but they may not want to risk it.
Anyway, as far as Europe goes, fake gambling where you spend in game poke dollars to win a Dratini or a Porygon makes them angry, but actual EA loot boxes with real money is totally okay.
Someone make it make sense. I loved gambling in casinos as a kid and yet I’ve never gone to a real one in my life. I thought we’ve already established that video games don’t cause violence? I played GTA too as a kid.

There can never be enough casino. There is always room for more and folks would enjoy it.
FFXIV operates in the EU, they have the Golden Saucer - in lore a casino, in practice an arcade.
Casinos are made for people to lose money not win, why would you wanna lose your gold lol

I think WoW has been pretty anti gambling from the start though. Like there were people doing gambling using /roll. I think they had a page on in the FAQ about in game casinos back in the day, unsure if it’s still there.
That’d be a massive disservice to the DMF. If we wanna go that route expand the DMF and make it not go away.

They used to say publicly advertising in-game casinos was against the rules (not actually doing it in closed groups or whatever, because that’s impossible to police).
I haven’t seen that article in forever though, they may have given up with it.
Especially given how often people publicly advertise deathrolling and how blatant the casino people are on Moon Guard (there’s been some bans but honestly with how those people behave it’s more like to be the result of them mass reporting each other than because Blizz isn’t okay with their casino crap).
Yeah, I know my raid sometimes uses a gambling addon during break time for fun, but we’ve made it very clear to everyone in the raid that if you participate but don’t pay, you don’t get to come back to raid. It’s never been an issue though.
But I know there were a lot of scams happening early on but I’m sure that’s a nightmare to police or try to stop so they might have just given up.
Edit: I was curious and found something about it. Basically if you get scammed, they will see if the person is scamming and punish accordingly, but you won’t get any gold restored. Do it at your own risk.
