Underlight Angler - Unable to see Artifact Table to spend AP

I have the Angler on several characters, and cannot upgrade the artifact on any of them. After clicking on the giant pearl in the fountain, the screen for the artifact is blank. I have AP and have no issues gaining AP from the trophy fishes, but I’m unable to see the trait table to spend/upgrade.

i am experiencing this bug as well, however i found a comment on Wowhead that has a few commands you can put in the chat to learn the talents. this worked for me a few weeks ago and i was able to get both Surface Tension and the Underlight Blessing on my Underlight Angler. just a heads up tho, i’m not sure if it’s intended or not, but now that the Underlight Angler is a profession tool, and we can’t equip it anymore like we used to, the Underlight Angler’s waterwalking and waterbreathing effects will only work after you started fishing and the fishing rod is in your hands, and you need to make sure your fishing profession tools are set to stay visible when you finish fishing. if you have them set to disappear the Underlight Angler will not work at all.

For those still looking to add powers to the Underlight Angler, but who cannot see the Artifact power tree, I present the following script:

/run for i,powerID in pairs(C_ArtifactUI.GetPowers()) do print(powerID, C_ArtifactUI.GetPowerHyperlink(powerID)) end

This prints out the numeric powerID and the Name of the Power so you can use the console add power script to add the powers of your choice.

/run C_ArtifactUI.AddPower(powerID)

For those wondering, the powerID/power list is

in case you are unfamillar with the Underlight Angler’s talents, the notable ones are
Way of the Flounder - reduces your aggro radius by 5 yds while fishing (also has a visual effect if you care about that)
Surface Tension - gives you waterwalking while holding your fishing rod

Underlight Blessing - turns you into a fish underwate while holding your fishing rod.

the rest are all related to fishing in certain pools in the broken isles.

Amazing! Thank you for the info. Great for a work around, so thank you to the OP too. I know its a low priority issue but hope an official fix is implemented at some point.

This is still happening now in 2025. Aparently you can run a bunch of scripts to add points blindly but this is far from ideal and very tedious at best. You can open the tree anyway you like and its blank. Nothing is there, whether I open it from my fishing equipment page or at the great pearl in Dalaran. I’ve tried equipping the fish pole but that is no longer possible. Please fix this. Players like to do things from other expansions. I could understand playing a game where everything was broken if it was free to play, but we subscribe to this. A good way to maintain clientele is to keep the aspects working that they enjoy. If all we are able to do is the current expansion, that can get old quick. Even aspects of that are broken (Siren Isle).

Bumping, still broken. Hopefully someone at blizz sees this. Apparently the plumber addon can fix this but I haven’t tested it out myself yet.

While I’m here can I request that the buffs given by profession tools “on equip” just stay on permanently while you’re out of combat? Having to do the whole swapping items off and on dance is very clunky and requires macros and/or addons and/or bag space.
