I worked really hard to get this on 3 toons, and when I went to use it, I noticed it was gone. After visiting conjurer Margoss, I noticed my rep with him was zeroed out. Was this deprecated, or is this a bug?
Are you sure the fishing rod isn’t in your equipped fishing equipment slot on the fishing pane?
Nope, it isn’t equipped as fishing equipment on any of my toons. I had it in my bags/bank because I used it primarily for swimming up until recently.
I’d put in a ticket. If you get a template response, reopen the ticket. Let them know your legendary fishing pole is missing and the rep is gone.
Don’t ask them if it’s a bug. They’ll just say to put in a bug report.
If you have issues with finding where to put in the ticket, ask CS. They usually know the correct link for it.
I went to report it, and there’s a note it was moved to the professions slot, but it is now missing. If they FAFOd this, after I worked for months to earn it, I’ll be very upset.
As the others said, open the bug report, and if you get a canned response then submit it again.
The angler is still there, and the rep should still be there too

You’ve got to re-equip it sometimes, it’s a little buggy. The effects still work though. I just tested it.
Dunno what to tell ya on that one, my Margos rep is still there and maxed out.
How do you re-equip it?
Equip another fishing pole, or alt-click on the Angler in your fishing journal and stick it back in your bag.
Also I’d edit out that masked profanity a couple posts ago, that’s just gonna get you banned from here for no good reason.
It could be a visual bug. Have you tried doing a full UI reset?
It wasn’t masked, that’s what I typed in.

If they took away something I worked for over a month to get, per toon, on 3 toons, you betcha I’ll be vacationing from this game for a while, but it won’t be because I was forced to do it, I’ll do it happily. In fact, you should report me if you feel that strongly.

Anyways, all that aside, the Angler still works fine, just requires some fiddling since it doesn’t play very well with the new profession equipment system. So I hope your fears are soothed.
But they didn’t? The rod still works, though a bit buggy. And you can ask in CS if a ticket is applicable for the missing rep— if the UI reset doesn’t fix it.
No, it doesn’t work as it did before. Period, and the rep was reset. Seriously, this isn’t a UI bug, because it only affects one rep, not the other 80 I’ve got. This was something Blizz did on purpose because it hates players and is sabotaging my fun time. (just kidding, but that’s how I feel, irrespective of the facts.)
In addition to the above, another option you can try is to just try to fish briefly (don’t even have to catch anything, just press the fishing button to throw the line), as the effects of the pole are active when the pole is out (you have the ‘fishing gear buff’ on)
So in addition to re-equipping the pole as mentioned above, just throwing the line should put the buff on and thus the angler effects, and can move immediately after throwing it out.

The information I gave you is the steps needed. Yes, one rep can be messed up and a UI reset sometimes fixes a visual bug with it. It’s the first step in troubleshooting and always will be.
Put in a ticket like I told you earlier. Don’t mention bugged.
