Underground zones

So I think I’ve decided I just dont like underground zones. Zaralec was bad and I’m leaning the same way on Ringing Deeps. While Hallowfall by itself is fantastic, traversing the world is just bad.

Only having one or two tunnels connecting each zone makes travel tedious and annoying. Oh I have to flying through a tunnel for 30 seconds to each the next zone? Lame. Let me be free.

Isn’t this what bothered people about Shadowlands? The zones not being connected? At least in shadowlands you could just hearth to Oribos and then fly directly to any zone. But in TWW you gotta find the one stupid tunnel and fly through a whole extra zone.

I’m not down on the xpac as a whole. I’m loving the story and the characters and the zones are good INDIVIDUALLY. But I think travel is a hassle and will just get more and more annoying as time goes on. And I just think Blizzard should stick with conventional above ground zones with conventional borders from now on.

Hopefully the engineering wormhole doesn’t take annoying setup like the DF version. I need that asap.

It’s way faster, smoother and easier to get from zone to zone in War Within that it was in Shadowlands. Shadowlands was an abomination in that sense. Having to port back to Oribos to take a flight path to a different zone is a war crime.

But still, this is not as ideal as an open surface world, I agree. They did a fine job of making Hallowfall feel mostly open, but Ringing Deeps and Azj-Kahet still feel like they’re underground, and it’s too much underground.

Zones not being connected was one of the least problems in that God-forsaken expansion.

people are so weird about shadowlands…
