In your Great Vault S4, The Neural Synapse Enhancer is a severely underbudgeted staff that is basically a trap gear reward that underperforms staves 30+ ilv’s under it. Feels terrible to open a vault and get trolled like that.
The proc does not come even close to compensating for the substraction in base intellect.
Did you sim before picking your vault item? My guess is that you didn’t.
I did. I haven’t grabbed it. That does not detract from the fact that the loot pool is poisoned by an item that is essentially a trap item.
In any other case, a 268 staff going to 304 staff would be a 300+ DPS boost.

I reported an intellect trinket that has less intellect than heroic dungeon SL loot, I got a canned reply that everything is fine.
Check to see if its one they said they were nerfing before the season start they did do some of those on purpose

Which makes it the more aggravating. They imported an item that at the time of its existence was already not worth using.

It is. The problem is the proc does not come close to compensating for the sheer loss of base intellect on the staff. If you look at it, a 304 ilv staff still has less base intellect than a 268 staff. Just imagine equivalent 268 ilv and you’ll realize how much of a tax the proc is despite being an actual loss as the proc does not come close to compensating for the base int budget reduction.
A 304 is showing as better than my 288 on raidbots, but gaining 500 mainstat for 15 sec is worth it for some specs like fire mage or moonkin. Even at the cost of some 200 mainstat outside of cooldowns.
Not when it places your other active trinkets on cd as well. The proc is not free.
Personally I’m a fan of the set from kara that increases your dmg to legion bosses by 10%
