I would pay 100$ for this change. We should be able to continue our service in death as well.
Wouldn’t channeling Light through their body cause them to explode? I thought it pained them just to call on it for being a priest.
inc “BUT MUH LORE” responses
They are dead…. Won’t feel any pain.
Yes, although with Calia and Alonsus Faol it seems like it could some day be a reality. The lore has been added to/changed/whatever you wanna call it.
Seems like eventually all or most races will be able to play all classes one day.
They do feel pain though. We’ve seen Sylvanas and others in physical pain.
I forgot about her. She was raised by the Light (am I correct on that?). I guess there’s a loophole. Maybe they could do a Forsaken AR.
I think those are called Death Knights.
this.
The Forsaken are forsaken. Forsaken of all things light.
priests allowed. They get in with a shadow form card.
Death knights can be any race…. I want to be an undead paladin!
it’s a very rare state. like a dark-naaru.
Yes, after Sylvanas murdered Calia Menethil, her body was taken back to the Priest Order Hall and the Naaru there, Anduin, and Alonsus Faol resurrected her as an undead, touched by Light. As far as I know she is the first and only that has been raised that way.
I think that Sir Zeliek (one of the Lich King’s four horsemen in Naxx) should also get an honorable mention, because he was such a devoted paladin in life, he still could call upon the Light in death.
The Light will not make an Undead explode but would cause constant pain and agony of the same sort as the Endless Hunger afflicting Death Knights when they aren’t killing things.
The Death Knights, Scourge and their offshoots all use a combination of Maldraxxi, Mawsworn and Venthyr Death Magics with the last of those being a sworn enemy of the Light which burns in the Light’s presence. The Maldraxxi are unaffected by the Light of the Ember Ward unlike the Venthyr.
That’s right the Light burns the Venthyr Death Magic out of the Undead and if used consistently enough it purges it completely leaving only Mawsworn and Maldraxxi Death Magics. Faol is shown soothed by the Light when Turalyon tested it on him likely due to his constant use of it purging away any Venthyr taint from it.
It also heals the connection between the Body and Soul which allows the Body to taste the rotting flesh in their mouths and feel the Maggots growing in their skin. The sort of thing that would make them pick out any maggots in there as well as heal their mouths completely.
An Undead Paladin is the sort who has unwavering willpower and thus can power through the constant pain long enough to get used to it or get rid of the Venthyr taint. Whichever comes first.
No.
One of DK the bosses in (wrath) naxx’s lore is a paladin the light never left him in (un)death.
edit: and DK lore is death hurts…making other suffer helps make it better lol. so undead are used to pain anyway it seems.
If a human paladin mercs into a horde BG what race would they be? I think they’re normally forsaken but they probably come out as BElf.
Are DK the same as Forsaken? Always thought of them as being stronger, especially Sir Zeliek, who was a Four Horseman.
Anyway, kind of sounds like Paladin lore has turned them from counters to Death Knights and vanquishers of evil (particularly the undead) to sparkly warriors lol
For me it’s iffy here. notthing defined as blizzard sometimes go…well its cool. Run it!
Since we get (anti)hero chars like lilian voss. Or that undead priest from legion priest. order hall. I am drawing a complete bank on his name for some reason.
Not DK’s. Not dark rangers. Supposely regular ole shambling corpses is what they are supposed to be. but they do much more. the priest especially.
But undead paladins would completely break my immersion!
tanks Rasz in yeti pajamas
All you gotta do is take some morphine. These are solvable lore problems
Race no longer being a limiter to class is supposedly on the docket. It’s probably just a matter of time, assuming Blizzard doesn’t flake out on it.
