Groundbreaking? By what standards?
This is nowhere near groundbreaking and it keeps on getting everyone shafted.
They want the groundbreaking stories like what some TV pop culture shows and movies have had in recent years, this is evident because of all the suspenseful plot twists and such. They are missing the mark big time and really harming the players in the process.
GOT seems to be one of their inspirations as of lateâŚ
I just pictured a middle schooler sitting on his deck writing something that imitates his favorite tv show poorly, sprinkling in a self insert and calling it âawesomeâ for some reason.
Or even better , cyber-zombies (undead mecha-gnomes) .
Yeah, how awful of her. If only she had stayed, she probably wouldâve 1v1âd Arthas easily, right?
Given how abundant magic is in this world, itâs a little disingenuous to imply that this magic is somehow less valid or more ridiculous than every other type in the lore.
And this whole idea is not without precedent. Weâve already seen a couple different types of âundeathâ in the lore prior to this. For example, in the War of the Ancients, the red dragonflight was shown to have the ability to temporarily raise a corpse as a sort of puppet and have it perform actions that it would have normally when alive. Unlike the undead we normally see in the game, their souls do not appear to be meddled with, itâs more like raising a memory.
Weâve also seen characters, such as Meryl Winter/Felstorm who managed to raise himself as an undead through his sheer power and force of will. Or Death Knights, of which there are at least two âgenerationsâ with the first generation being the souls of slain warlocks being forced into the corpses of slain humans, and the second the traditional ones we have in game that force their original souls back into their body.
The majority of undeath we see in Warcraft is like the latter variety of Death Knights, where their souls are imperfectly attached to their corpses. Itâs really not at all unreasonable for the Light to be able to accomplish something similar but different, as presumably their souls arenât being forced but rather guided.
Yes, this member of the royal Menethil family who was nearly forced into marrying Deathwing, married a non-noble and had a child in secret and desperately wanted Arthas to be king so she could officially acknowledge them, and then witnessed her own brother turn evil and murder their father and attack/destroy their city, only to then become separated from her husband and child and still not know their fate to this day has clearly lived a life of luxury and never known hardship.
Donât get me wrong, itâs okay to not like her character, but based on what youâve posted here, I really donât think you actually know this character well enough to make claims like:
no thanks, we donât need fat orcs
Iâm guessing all this crap happens in a bundle of novels and comics that I will never read, and despite this info dump, none of it makes her a prime candidate for consoling Undead of any kind. So again:
Certainly what it feels like at this point.
Nothing inherently wrong with that, but if you donât care about or arenât interested in the story enough to read any of it, then thereâs no real reason to give much credence to statements and opinions such as
That being said, I will certainly concede that they should have done and really need to do a better job of portraying stuff like this in game. I genuinely donât mean to be rude with my previous comment, I understand that Iâm probably in the minority with reading many of the books and so while I think your opinion/statement is wrong, I cannot really fault you for basing it on the information (or lack thereof) available in game.
The novels need to enhance the in-game story, not be the driving factor behind them. We would have any clues about what Sylvanasâ reasons for attacking darkshore if it werenât for before the storm and the good war novella.
She could have died with them, raised with them, suffered with them and eventually start a coup, which would have been 10 times better than having her suddenly finding out the people her dad used to rule still roam Lordaeron even after living for decades in a town that had constant skirmishes with Forsaken.
I always kind of have that feeling myself but as I said, it just keeps getting worse.
Give me Undead Elves and I race change instantly.
I dont blame you. Those classic orc models are pretty gross compared to todays models. retches
On point though. I dont think another elf race is coming. We have enough. Id rather see ogres, gillblins, jinyu, mogu, etcâŚ
Really any race other than more elvesâŚand i love elvesâŚ
I wanted Undead Blood Elves not Undead Night Elves. Ew.
If Horde is getting Undead Night Elves, I demand Sanâlayn for Allianceâusing the Blood elf model
I wouldnât mind more Elves, but giving them now Night Elves and Darkshore would be bad.
Of course, I might reconsider it for Night Elf Worgen on the AllianceâŚ
You are an undead Blood ElfâŚ
Ogres, using the Night Elf Skeleton
Yeah, but I canât play any other class except Death Knight to be one. I want to be undead elf that can play as hunter and rogue too.
<3 yes I love night elves letâs bring them to horde!
