Undead model

Some people didnt understand the topic, so i will make a major edit:

I saw the new boneless option and its still not a good looking model.
The legs and arms are too skiny to look good, it doesnt seem to have any flesh. There are major undead characters with good looking models, but nothing alike the forsaken.

For years we had models with bones protruding through armor, wich makes 0 sense. Now we can hide those bones, but the model still looks unfinished, arms and legs are disproportionate. An easy fix is to make them bulkier, not all the model, just arms and legs (where the bones are hide now) in the male model (i didnt look the female). It looks really weird, they have no shape.
And maybe an upright option.

Nothing to add, just agreement. I still feel bad for undead. I had an undead for my first ever character and I just feel like yeah, even with what I’ve seen from the shadowlands previews and dressing room they just could have upgraded them a little more.

I like my forsaken the way I like my chicken wings; boneless.

All the NPC unique undead models that have been mentioned already look … idk bloated I guess to me. The updates so far for us PCs looks fine to me.

Those are more like Death Knights than Forsaken, honestly. all leader type undead were raised differently than the forsaken PC.

Eh, I’m fine with the Forsaken still looking gnarly, but they do need to quit standing and animating like they’re a gaggle of brainless Romero fodder.

Forsaken who are ugly to the point of intimidation are fine. That fits. The rest of the shambling zombie bit, though? …

The whole culture of “Freedom and iron will!” really doesn’t come through when you galumph around like an anorexic Quasimodo.

I mean… i want upgright forsaken but i don’t need straight up human model recolored into edgelord tastes.

I like their slim and unnatural figure.

It’s why they look so amazing in cloth. And soon to be in leather!!!

Ally got their high elves.

Give horde humans. Dead ones.

This is not a lore discussion, this is a discussion about undead model issues.

You used Nathanos as an example, who has a lore reason.

Speaking for myself, and with all due respect to others opinions, I’m for more upright characters across all races; just looks better, in my humble opinion.

And now you understand that is not the main reason, so you can go on and think about the real topic

Nah I like the zombie feel, Nathanos just looks like a pale human with glowy eyes boring.

Do you understand how modeling works? it would require a whole new rid.
Did you see how long it took for Gobs and Worgen to get their new rig?

The undead look fine as they are. The bones protruding was a weird flex, but it was that way since classic. Them finally allowing us to hide that is a great gift.
Upright would be an even greater gift.

And yes, the models you mentioned are lore reasons to not be the same as ‘forsaken’.

no, no they’re not. They’re just pale humans.

Seeing how the Valkyr only begrudgingly summon the undead like Nathanos…and Sylvanas is down to 2 or 3 of the flying Horcruxes.

Odds are undead models will be garbage unless SL gives them a makeover.

Most undead are not special cases like the major NPCs. They are rotting corpses that were brought back from a crappy graveyard. I like that the Forsaken look decrepit.

Bloated?
Yeah no.
Upright is kewl but we aren’t NPCs so their model isn’t every deader.

Lol, people is reading what they want. It says “bulkier”, not bloated. Imagine the arms and legs with more flesh/muscle, done, thats bulkier. Not big fat human arms and legs, but something proportionate to the undead models

The existence of the bone-free variant isn’t new for Shadowlands; it was created when WoW shipped in China. They’re simply offering the choice of those pre-existing bandaid’d models to other markets now.

This particular variation of the model isn’t still being iterated on (feedback is likely to be ignored). Model-wise, this is actually an old one. You might be able to get some new skin tones or hair colors though.

Edit: I also love how undead look. If you’re going to change an undead model, just add undead variants of other races. Leave this one alone, IMO. It is great!
