Undead Model Rework!

I think it would be nice if we could pick the Chinese “covered joints” part, at least.

Yeah… the hunch is partially why I race changed mine.

I wouldn’t be against that in the slightest. It’s the “pretty” option I don’t care for; when I think Forsaken, I immediately think of the vanilla cinematic: that decrepit foot coming down and scorching the earth with dark magic.

They’ve already created new customization options for several of the base races. They just need to actually implement them, and create more options where necessary.

There are also a number of unused customization options for some of the races too, especially for male Worgen.

I think the way current UD look makes them look shady. Not goblin going to steal your wallet shady or oversell an item but dagger in the back shady. Nefarious. It’s why my warlock is UD and if I had a rogue, it’d be UD because I feel that shady classes deserve shady races to carry them.

However, I wouldn’t be opposed to more customization options especially when one person posted UD guards standing tall.

Who ? ? ? ?

What I’d like is being able to determine my level of decay, both for myself and my clothes. Not sure why female undead get straight backs but males don’t, but I’d like the option.

Yes this 100%! I’d like my decay level to be max! full skelly and standing tall!

The current Forsaken sit in this horrible divot of neither being human nor feral and gnarly enough to be threatening.

They just look and animate so lethargically, and carry themselves like they should be shuffling in the background of a Romero flick.

Forsaken would be better served going either full feral, “fast” zombie, like Geists, or be drawn and animated more like… well, every “Forsaken” character who matters. Stand up straight, animate like you’re not staggering out of bed, and carry yourselves like you’ve both will and backbone, which we all know you have. It’s the name of your racial, and we can all see your literal backbone.

Either way, it’s really damning to the current design when every major “paragon” Forsaken character is explicitly NOT the slumpy, slouchy model foisted on players.

Still mad they took away the skeleton face!!

I can’t post images or link apparently, but here’s the same face old/new…

Wouldn’t it be hilarious if the Alliance got Lightborn forsaken as an allied race, and they had no bones showing and straight backs, and those options weren’t given to forsaken players, Ion would prob tell those angry with it that if they want nice looking undead the Alliance is there waiting for them XD

Give us the Chinese model with no bones showing.
It already exists and is in the game. Why not open it up for others to use?

I just want. To hide. The. Bones.

And I just want only bones!! haha

I do too! More options for everyone is never a bad thing =)

Forsaken are not meant to be scary, they’re meant to be a sad joke, however, we just happen to be the best race in the game. No bias here at all.

Semper Fi! :us:

I actually like the Forsaken models lots. Except for the unique character models for Nathanos and Sylvanas those are just a human and an elf with contact lenses and face paint.

It’s not just Forsaken. I always thought it was funny that they gave Thrall a tall, majestic, upright model because they didn’t think the hunchback orcs looked good enough.

Edit: That being said, I agree with you OP. If even Blizzard doesn’t think the models look good enough, how can they expect the players to?

i was a big supporter of giving undead a nathanos type model. he looks cool as heck. that is, till i became a fan of an old vanilla undead frost mage, an infamous pvper named vurtne. i have since changed my view on male undead. haven’t much changed my opinion of female undead though. they could use some sylvannasizing.

I’m always in favor of more customization but not if it’ll solely lead to Alliance players finally getting up the nerve to play their prettied up Forsaken alts. Leave our ugly, weak, bad models alone! Can’t handle protruding bones, rotted skin and hunches? Play a blood elf.
