Undead get so much disrespect

I am part of the hord faction, what does the undid get so much disrespect in that faction I just witnessed it firsthand

Was this the scene with Garrosh and Sylvanas?

Well, for a start, the Undead, aka the Forsaken, are rotting corpses. Think Zombie Apocalypse, which is how they started. Mindless slaves of the Lich King.

The Undead/Forsaken that we have in the game are just a splinter of the mindless Scourge that killed and ravaged the lands. So, imagine you lived through the Zombie Apocalypse and then met up with some of the zombies who had regained their rationality. (But were still rotting corpses, and still had … strange ideas about death and … food.) You might not want them living next door to you. :stuck_out_tongue:

Sylvanas and the Forsaken make everyone uneasy. They are also specialists in brewing up Blight, which you can consider some pretty extreme chemical warfare.

The Forsaken cannot reproduce, and I imagine this was something of a relief to the living. And then Sylvanas finds a way to resurrect more corpses to maintain their numbers.

How would you react if a group of zombies resurrected a corpse in front of you? With the intention of building up their numbers?

When I came into the The capital of the hord Throw food on you they spit on you and are rude. I think I had one nice player come up to me. I know it was the NPC‘s. That did that and I think they said it’s OK.

Ah. Were you on a Death Knight?

Yes, it is OK.

Death Knights are not the typical Forsaken. But much the same thing applies to them. They also were raised by the power of the Lich King. While they are not rotting corpses, they are in a way worse - they were the elite soldiers of the Lich King that warred on the living.

When you make a DK, you kill an old friend while under the control of the LK. That’s why everyone despises DKs - while not mindless like the Scourge, they were cruel and mercilaess.

However, once you are accepted into the Horde or Alliance, after you go to Orgrimmar or Stormwind, you will not be insulted by NPCs again.

This will happen with all Death Knight characters, regardless of race. Once you complete the quest and are accepted they’ll be nice.

Other undead classes will not have the same response when they walk into the city, they’re already friendly.

Well, not Forsaken walking into Stormwind.

But Horde cities, yeah. They’re at least polite.

Do this happen in the classic one too?

Wrath Classic? Yeah. It’s just a standard part of the original Wrath Death Knight starting experience.

I can’t remember if it’s part of the Retail Allied Races DK starting experience, which is different from the original races’.

Do the alliance do it too?

Yup, the citizens of Stormwind are no nicer than the denizens of Orgrimmar. The hate of the Scourge was universal and real, and when your baby DK first comes to the capital to offer their services to their faction, no one knows that your DK has broken away from the Scourge. Some probably wouldn’t care.

It’s only the separation of gameplay and lore that keeps the guards from slaughtering you out of hand the moment you set foot in the capital.

I’ll say…I have played this game off and on since vanilla. Came back from dipping out early in Shadowlands…season 3 Dragonflight. I have never seen so little undead. It’s disappointing. :frowning:
