If you did, you must remember Ms. Fortune, the pun-loving catgirl who was cut to pieces by the mafia for stealing a prized gem along with her gang of thieves. Except she hid the gem by eating it and the gem was magic, so she became immortal.
(She is the reason why I love puns so much!)
As such, her head and limbs are fully detachable from her body, and she can use that to her advantage in combat. Her limbs get increased range, she can throw her head to bite her foe (saying “omnomnomnomnom” while doing so), et cetera, et cetera.
I’m just saying, Undead characters should get that too.
We could, for instance, get a Racial in which we can send one arm around walking with it’s fingers to scout the area, similar to the Eye of Kilrogg. We could also get increased range by projecting our arms forward beyond the limits of attached arms.
it can reattach its limbs and joints by temporarily melting their skin, knitting muscle and clicking bones back together. It should be noted, however, that this ability is considered rare among the undead, and many cannot simply re-attach limbs on their own.
The Forsaken restoration process requires the stitching or grafting of new sinew, muscle and skin to repair their bodies; and since the Forsaken body does not naturally heal itself, it is the predominant method of keeping Forsaken bodies functional. It should also be noted that a Forsaken’s body, or the parts of the body they’ve grafted onto it, may only be preserved in the same condition as it was found when deceased. Since Forsaken bodies can’t grow new muscles, a body part of a new Forsaken will never naturally grow stronger and thus will only improve if one replaces the unsatisfactory body part with another one containing more muscles.
Given enough time, Forsaken may slowly lose their consciousness and devolve into a mindless state. This appears in the form of a chilling sensation, making the Forsaken feel physically cold. However, if a Forsaken’s body is kept intact, they could potentially avoid this altogether and live forever.
i am in favor of becoming a dulahaun.
becoming a headless horseman rider of the night would be sickkk.
i do hope more customization comes to undead/forsaken.
like… so much more. i want the team to just go wild.
Not really. There are plenty of instances of Undead detaching body parts.
The Headless Horseman, the Severed Head from Vanilla Silverpine Forest, lots and lots of animated Undead Arms in Icecrown, and most importantly for this thread the Scourge’s big zombie model, whose arm falls of and tries to run away before the zombie grabs it and pops it back in place.
Essentially, Undeath is Magic, and Magic has no hard rules. Even if the Forsaken don’t know how to use the corpse magic that sustains them to move, detach and reattach their limbs right now, they could always learn to do so.
Mechagnomes would fit this better TBH. Not that undead couldn’t do it, but it makes perfect sense for mechagnomes with the super tech fantasy like drones and stuff.
