Undead allied race

I know this is just betting a rug but is there any thoughts that later in this expansion that a forsaken like race could become an allied race and maybe join the alliance?

They datamined 4 new ARs tied to covenants, and Maldraxxus is an undead necormatic covenant. We have no idea what race they’d give, and are uncertain what faction they’d go to either. But if they aren’t neutral the data suggested Horde would get Faun and Undead? While alliance gets Kyrian and Vampires.

This was a subject of heavy speculation due to what Calia became in the pre-BFA novel, but more recently Ion slammed that door shut when he said there would be no further content released for BFA. I personally never want to see an Undead race on Alliance, I would have much rather seen either Horde get the Lightbound Undead and Alliance get Sethrak, or Horde get Forsaken Night Elves and Alliance get Silver Covenant High Elves.

How would vampires be ok with the alliance?

The factions are presently at peace. So really the Alliance would serve as an emissary/host to help them get situation. The vampries of Revevdreth are essentially just like Elementals from the Firelands, except now they can cross over. Not to mention the Venthyr deal with eating and punishing sin.

So, I feel like the 4 new ones would be neutral, but you never know.

I’d assume they’d want vampires on the opposite faction as werewolves, but hey, maybe not.

this would actually make me chuckle at how silly it’d be, seems like they’d be a pretty clear choice to be friends with nelves.

really we’ll have to wait until we see all the zones storylines before making any meaningful speculation though.

The Faun are the polar opposite of the Night Elves. Nelves follow the Summer Court of Fairies through the Emerald Dream. Ardenweald is the Dark Mirror of the Emerald Dream, and it’s leader is the Queen of the Winter Court of Fairies.

Due to that fact alone, I doubt they’d go Alliance, although I’m sure that given certain lore characters being in Ardenweald, the zone will have a big Nelf presence.

Beyond that, the Nelves dominate the game’s summer court nature stuff, and are known as the nature side of the Alliance.

The Horde desperately needs a nature themed race in a very heavy sense, especially given all that has happened and other Horde races. So giving them the race revolving around Death and Rebirth makes perfect sense.

The Alliance has the 2 forged races already, in Lightforged Draenei and Void Elves. I don’t see why they would be opposed to Vampires & Werewolves.

I think that at moment are enough races in the game wich need Love and attention. We need more Lore about them .

Maldraxxus could yield Mogu. Assuming we don’t actually get the convenant races and they’re just the faction we work with to unlock whatever AR.

I think Calaart was referring to the usual horror concept of vampires and werewolves fighting each other and not getting along.

Faun going to the Horde is about as likely as Brown Orc’s were going to the Alliance.

Possible allied races. You forgot it wasn’t confirmed and it’s alpha so subject to change. It just seems extremely likely.

There was the Lightforged Undead rumor that mmo champ floated about.

But my problem with that concept is the lack of Undead.

Take a look at Calia, she is more of a lightforged Human than any aspects of being undead.

Don’t get me wrong she is gorgeous, but it invites different company is what i am saying.

We also need to keep in mind that she is the only Lightforged Undead and her resurrection was supposedly a thing we cannot do willy nilly.

Too many ppl complained about the current ARs not having a story relevance in BFA when we unlock them and what not.

So Blizz said no more ARs that are not tied directly to the story we’re working on that xpac.

True, but Light and Dark also clash horribly, and they did that. So :man_shrugging:.

The Night Elves famously hate anything different then them, or that thinks different from them. So I doubt they’d accept people who are focused on death and rebirth rather then the brighter aspects of life like they are. Plus, there’s the business with Tyrande that the devs said will be heavy and make us sad.

I agree, I doubt we’d get LF Undead, it’s just we don’t know what races are in Maldraxxus yet, while the other 3 covenants have male & female models that use current playable race skeletons. So we just assume their covenant will yield something similar to an undead theme with their race.

got a source for this? been trying to avoid shadowlands story spoilers, but the titan made emerald dream having a fairy court is news to me and I’d like to read up on this.

No!

No Undead stinking up Stormwind. Undead can stay with the other stinky races!

With the addition of the new skin colors coming to undead in shadowlands, I find this extremely unlikely.

Originally druids were fairy themed instead of Astral themed.

But the game still has things like Fairy dragons that come from the Emerald Dream which is a plane similar to the DnD Feywilds, anyhow.

As for the Titan stuff, we know that Chronicle is a Titan account of their knowledge and what they want us to know, it’s possible the Titans didn’t entirely make the Dream, and that it can extend to multiple planets.

However: At Blizzcon Ion did say Ardenweald was the Dark Mirror to the Dream. Their covenant is the Night Fae, and they have a Queen called the Winter Queen, who is modeled after the Winter Court or Fairies.

Lore wise we could presume the Green Dragons are the rulers of the summer court, because that is the inverse of the winter court.

One way or another SW will get undead. The data suggests Alliance will get Vampires, if all 4 are not neutral. So you could potentially get 2 undead races in SW. But you do get to have Angels, that’s something right?

I want to believe that alliance could get vampires but I’m scared to hope.
