Uncorrupted Voidwing & availability

In the Shadowlands Pre-Expansion Patch Survival Guide, the video states:

When the pre-expansion patch goes live, a few features and rare items from Battle for Azeroth will become more difficult to obtain, or completely unobtainable; including the Mighty Caravan Brutosaur and the Uncorrupted Voidwing mounts.

This seems to infer that the Uncorrupted Voidwing will be unobtainable in the Shadowlands pre-patch.

However, in the post found here, it states that the Uncorrupted Voidwing will be “Going Away with Shadowlands Launch”.

Two different pieces of content here seem to directly contradict each other on this mount.

Could we please get some clarification & a definitive answer on this? It would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

you probably aren’t going to get clarification at this point.

I’d recommend getting it this week if you want it.

This is not entirely for myself, but also for sales runs

I would have to assume this applies to the heroic mount as well.

These are for the Mythic mounts, not the Heroic mount

Do you honestly think they would let the mythic mounts be 100% but would take away the heroic mount?

It doesn’t. AOTC mounts are locked behind AOTC.

It is not an Ahead of the Curve mount. It is attached to a quest that is dropped when the boss is killed.

Yes but it is the ahead of the curve mount. Meaning it will go away in the next expansion.

Just like the Spellwing, Grove Warden, and Wolf.

It is not attached to the Ahead of the Curve achievement. The Ahead of the Curve achievement and this mount are two separate things that are completed at the same time.

Things like the Reins of the Kor’kron War Wolf were directly obtained through earning the achievement. The Uncorrupted Voidwing mount is not.

“Although plenty of mounts and achievements are being removed in the pre-patch, there are still a few sticking around until Shadowlands launches. The Uncorrupted Voidwing mount will continue to drop from [defeating Heroic N’Zoth as the ‘Spawn of Vexiona’ item which can be redeemed by talking to Wrathion afterwards.”

Gamerant article on the subject.

It is the Ahead of the Curve Mount. It is rewarded for killing N’zoth on Heroic difficulty or higher before the next patch. That means it is ahead of the curve. When that achievement goes away, so too will the mount

And the entire point of discussion is that the new Survival Guide contradicts that. That was the OP’s question.

Mate …

It is NOT awarded from the achievement. Open your achievement tab and have a look at the previous Ahead of the Curve achievements before commenting again.

Before you assume, actually check these things.

Ahead of the Curve: N’Zoth the Corruptor (no mount reward)
Ahead of the Curve: Garrosh Hellscream (25 player) (mount reward)

The Grove Warden & the Violet Spellwing were not Ahead of the Curve achievement reward mounts.
They were mounts given as rewards from quests attached to the kill of the boss.
The same as the Uncorrupted Voidwing.
My question stands of the fact that the video and the article directly contradict each other and we do not have a definitive answer on this topic.

It’s like I’m talking to a brick wall here.

What was the Violet Spellwing?

What was the Grove Warden?

Yes, while it may not specifically say the mount’s name, functionally, it is the Ahead of the Curve Mount. It’s rewarded at the exact same time as the achievement from the exact same source. Killing the final boss on heroic difficulty before the next patch.

Why are you even arguing this with me? This is so pointless.

I stand corrected. I honestly can’t remember but I could have sworn I was doing Grove Warden runs long after pre-patch for WOD. Seems weird for them to do an about face on that idea now. Seems even weirder to let people farm Jaina mounts for 100% but not the nyalotha mount.

The pre patch survival guide said GOING AWAY PRE PATCH. Trust the Wowhead video, they made it themselves.

2:55 listen to his full sentence.

The Ny’alothan Allseer and Jaina mounts are still 100% in pre-patch. The guaranteed mount for everyone rewarded on kill of Heroic/Mythic N’zoth, the Uncorrupted Voidwing, is unknown currently. I’d think the Uncorrupted Voidwing would stick around for a bit longer, but seeing as how N’zoth no longer has the corruption attached, I’d think it’s probably going away very soon.

It is quoted in it’s entirety above …

WoWHead did not make this video and are not the company making the game …

His full sentence says it goes away with pre-patch but an article published states it’s not …

Did you even read?

“When the pre-expansion patch goes live, a few features and items from BFA will become difficult to obtain or completely unobtainable including the mighty caravan brutosaur, and the uncorrupted void wing mount”.
