If you go to the Adventure Guide, the title of the activity is “Capture an Uncommon Rarity Battle Pet”. BUT if you mouse over it, it adds “in Zaralek Cavern”.
Only way to be sure which it is, is to test it I guess.

OK, I tested it. Found an uncommon pet and captured it, and got the points.
So the Zaralek Cavern bit is an error on their part. Or they changed it at some point but didnt bother to correct the tab detail.

Last month you had to beat the pet battle tamers in ZC. This month there is nothing specific tied to ZC. Because I caught an uncommon pet in Valdrakken and it counted. Released it right after the fight though since I only keep one copy of each pet.

I keep 3 of almost every pet because when I am doing the WQ pet battles its possibly to have a team of Level 1 pets which means the WQ pets are also only level 1. Makes things happen a lot faster.
Now and then you will find pet battles that dont have that option, but this is the exception.
All but twelve of my pets are max level. I have no issue with completing any pet battle WQ.
I could do the same (I use Rematch which I love) but frankly its just quicker for me the way I do it. Only exception of course is if you are doing the specialised achievements of a set of specific type pets.
Yeah still working on the Family battle achievements for both BFA and Legion. But I will get there. I just have other priorities at the moment lol. I also use Rematch. It makes pet battles so much easier.
There are stones you can use to make pets blue grade, you can also buy them or loot them from pet battles or simply do lots of battles back to back until you end up getting a rare one. Too bad you can fight epic ones but cannot get an epic battlepet.
Then yours either didn’t count or is bugged. Because it absolutely does say Zaraleck.
Yeah, Sen, I said in an earlier comment that I tested it myself. I captured an uncommon pet in Org and was awarded the points. I’d say they put in the Zaralek Caverns line and changed it with the title but forgot to take the extra words out.
Either that or it is bugged for everyone.
It only says it when you mouseover, not in the actual task. It’s probably leftover text that a dev forgot to take out. The actual task doesn’t mention Zaralek.
You can see the difference in things like “Defeat Outland Pet Tamers” instead of “Defeat Pet Tamers” with “Defeat the Pet Tamers of Outland” when you mouseover it. It outright says where to go in the task.

It’s been ZC since they released the tasks, so who knows what they did. lol
For mine I caught a green-level Vorquin Runt outside Swog the Elder’s cave in the Waking Shores and it counted. I imagine either they weren’t able to get the game to recognize the zone a mob was captured in, or they changed the requirement but forgot to remove the text.
Yep, its just another low Quality Control blip. Somebody should be keeping a list.
It seems odd to consider putting it in Dragonflight since many players who are new to the game or dont have the DF expac have fewer options to do the amount of items needed to be able to complete the Trading Post, and battle pet options are obviously something that is a lot easier for lower level characters to do.
There’s always at least one task that makes you wonder what their actual intention was. LOL

it is super easy to find one, I went to Elwynn forest and found one in 2 minutes, I do the low level maps just to go quickly with my 15 battle pet battles needed, like my 3rd pet battle was vrs an uncommon.

I’ve been wondering around Elwynn for ages and all the pets I find are poor quality. >:(
