DK should have been with a new Scourge faction and blizz reworked all BGs to have 3 factions from WotLK forward :sunglasses:

one design choice I saw in Rift was the creation of independent factions for pvp.

so let’s say Alliance is Blue and Horde is Red. The battleground will be a conflict between Team Green and Team Yellow and players from both A and H are randomly spawned into whichever side. and the BG is fought as Green vs Yellow, with no correlation to A or H faction lines.

their … i forgot the name of it … actually had 3 factions that were all fighting in the BG and players were randomly assigned into these 3 factions.

it was quite fun and randomized.

that’s pretty cool. when I took a vacation from WoW during the hot mess that was Shadowlands, before they overhauled PVP in FF14 they had something similar, I think the teams were like 24x24x24 though. (pvp in that game still not good unfortunately)

I posted this in another thread earlier but if they HAD done a scourge faction, it could go something like:

-death knights
-warlocks
-priests (holy/disc priests have renamed spells with different cosmetic spell animations)
-warriors
-maaaaaybe mage? with the same idea as priest with the spells/animations

But the issue isn’t that ret is bad or weak

It’s just simply that shamans are overpowered

It’s not only retribution that is behind its horde counterpart (enhance). It’s the class as a whole that needs help to compete against shaman class.

In pvp I think this might be okay but I’m not sure. Since the Meta seems to be so heavily skewed to range in pvp and ret having no range answer may not make much of a difference. Also alliance not having an easier access to windfury outside one of the least played specs in history, means pve is a lot harder to pug with suitable buffs. I have seen countless posts of please give someone else windfury.

Now I don’t think they should give rets windfury aura, but if they gave each faction each class it would be more balancing for pve which is also a game mode the majority of the player base prefers. Especially since the logs show equal participation but the BGs do not.

Well it’s season of discovery so Blizzard can make some changes to make paladin competitive.
Now there are definitely many options to look at but it will depend on Blizzard.

No, I disagree. Shamans are not incredibly broken. We are fine.

It’s too hard for them to copy paste the class quests apparently.

make divine storm great again (make it holy damage you cowards) and give us AoW instant flash of light on a 6 sec ICD. exorcism already resets, there is no need to choose between using either. the ICD would make up for back to back crits so it’s not just being spammed when you’re on top of someone

gg wp ez. I’m ok with having ranged be our weakness but we should be sturdier and have some instant self healing component similar to MSW

Just give paladins an aura that gives agility, strength, spell power, and 5% mana regen every 3 seconds. Then halve the cooldown on exorcism, and holy shock, and increase their damage by 50%. Also make the hand of reckoning rune give paladins 30% hp, 10% dr, and 6% cr. Finally, give horde a faction wide debuff of 10% reduced damage and healing.

That should balance it out.
