It’s been a week or two now that the talents which I swap back and forth from now LEAVE my toolbar when deselected.
This is a HUGE quality of life decrease, because I swap between the same few abilities all the time, and it really sucks having to place them on the correct spot every single time that I choose them.
Before the latest patch, if I hadn’t chosen an active talent from my talent tree, it would STAY on my toolbar until I CHOSE to remove it. Now, it disappears by itself–something that I do NOT want to happen.
Does anyone know of a way to stop this from happening? It’s really frustrating having to continuously spend my time re-placing my talents onto my toolbar every other PvP match…
You can use a multi talent macro though since that’s not the actual spell but a macro and it shouldn’t move. If it does move then I’m inclined to blame one of your addons.

Glad you posted, I noticed rune of power always disappears from bars when I switch between that and IF. Using bartender and didn’t start having this problem until 9.1 ish. Noticed today that it does not happen with my dh which made me think it was something addon related with my mage but idk
The problem with “some” of this stuff is that I’m not tech savvy enough. Macros are a guess and hope…and then do I really want to spend more time researching stuff that should be easy in game stuff -(except macros) - but I try those addons , take one look at settings and pull out my cross and slowly back away from the evil! Lol
Don’t be afraid of addons friendo! Especially not longstanding addons like Domino’s or Bartender because they’ve been around for years and have tons of users who can help you out

They are a worthwhile investment because they can greatly improve the quality of your game experience and with practice you will find that your need of religious relics will go down
I’ll try, but usually someone needs to sitting right with me pointing things out before I get it. But, hey why not…when I actually play again. SL is too daunting - especially alone. I’ve had my fill of watching videos to learn, and I. Am. Not. Running Torghast 50 million times, nor spend most of my time in the Maw - let alone not being able to fly. - uh oh, went through my partial list again. Also, it would probably be easier to take this gal in rather than my hunter. Think I’ll still stick with my usual break that happens every expac.
I was in Dalaran, and I swapped out of one active talent ability (Blinding Light) for a faster Hammer of Justice, and within 1 minute the Blinding Light ability was gone!
It’s quite frustrating, because I am very particular about where I place my abilities.
I use the same action button for different talents mapped to wheel button. Every time I swap talents the old talent remains but greeted out until I put the new one it’s place.
