Unbreak the API to allow for the LFD addon again

A classic era addon existed that was a better LFD tool than Blizzard’s proposed LFG tool. Blizzard broke the API to break the addon. For Wrath, Blizzard should unbreak the API to allow a LFD addon for players that want it. Any player not wanting it would simply not install the addon.

NO.

Do you know why?

I’m not sure this is the one, but wasn’t it to do with addon-addon communication causing server latency issues?

or just allow RDF to be in the game :woman_shrugging:

Last I check the LFD addons still worked just fine.

I think that one was a scouting addon, where it would show the position of enemy players in the zone by communicating with all other players on your faction in the same zone.

Memory is vague though, that might not have been a real thing.

Yeah same, but I think you might be right. And they changed the combat log range because of it, or something like that.

Lfd isn’t needed. Next!

Had nothing to do with latency. It was purely against “spirit of classic”. Which was fine for Classic Vanilla.

RIO on retail is basically a must-have addon. There is even a desktop client for that.
And it’s like constant communication between clients.

Found it, thanks!

Even the anti-LFD crowd is in favor of doing it via addons.
