Unavoidable launch-week commitments

I’m under subpoena to testify as a witness in court on August 28. It’s about 4 hours from my house and could be an all-day thing, so that day is blown. Luckily it’s just one day.

Just wondering who else has commitments that will keep them away from the early game and are difficult or impossible to avoid. I’ve heard several mention travel. Other possibilities:
-major work or school deadlines or projects
-family weddings; your own wedding
-military service
-jail/prison

I’ll be at my beach house when Classic launches.

My boss has told me I’m going to be on the other side of the country till the 29th. The real question is whether I can work out how to play from there.

Originally that was going to be a few days after I went through major surgery. Now it will be around the time I’m mid-chemo.

(CAVEAT: I already had no plans to play Day 1 anyway. I’m quite happy to wait 3-4 months, maybe more, for no layering and all the GO-GO-GO end-gamers to get out of the way.)

I work from home, and have no other commitments.

Fall university semester begins on the 26th. Yay.

oof… I might take this opportunity to recommend stop hanging around with the type of people who end up in court! :smirk:

becareful, Blizzard might ban your account if they see two IPs from other sides of the country login.

I make my own schedule for the most part, as long as my job gets done for the day i’m good. So I’ll be getting out a bit early on Monday to play the first night, and did take Tuesday off. After that i’ll just work a few hours here and there through the rest of the week depending on how much I find myself no lifing things.

Nah, there are plenty of people who travel that play regularly. The most you get is an email confirming it is you logging in.

This is actually one of the best releases for me in terms of other commitments. Not in season (taxes) and labor day is the next week. My 3 1/2 days PTO=8 nights and 7 days of pure face melting.

Same, but with horses. No such thing as a day off. Luckily though I can break my day up into mornings and afternoon/s evenings this time of year and it works fine.

My immediate supervisor will be away until mid September. I think I’ll be ok.

Work is always a conflict. It takes 8 playing hours away!!!

Off work for 3 weeks starting next week. Wife has a long to do list at our house. I already told her the last week of august i wont be doing any work.

haha no sleeping in on your 3 weeks off then, you have 2 weeks to accomplish everything (and more, lets be honest) that is expected if you want to be doing what you want for a week!

My wedding anniversary is the 28th…Thankfully we divorced last year and i don’t have to celebrate it
