I am writing to express my extreme frustration with a recent experience in the Raid Finder (LFR) system. As a loyal player of World of Warcraft for over 20 years, I expect the core systems of the game to function properly, but what I encountered was completely unacceptable.
I was placed into an LFR group that exceeded the maximum capacity (27 players), which is already a glaring issue. To make matters worse, I was unable to teleport into the raid instance despite being part of the group. After trying to troubleshoot the situation myself and realizing there was no way to participate, I left the groupâonly to be slapped with a 30-minute deserter debuff.
This situation is infuriating for several reasons:
Overcapacity Groups Should Not Happen: The LFR system has been in place for years, and it should not allow more than 25 players in a group under any circumstances. This is a fundamental flaw that should have been resolved long ago.
Punished for System Failures: I was penalized with a deserter debuff for leaving a group that I physically could not participate in due to a failure on Blizzardâs end. This feels like being punished for your own systemâs shortcomings.
No Accountability or Transparency: There is no indication that Blizzard is addressing these issues or compensating players who are unfairly affected by them.
I have been a dedicated player for decades, and I find it unacceptable that such basic issues persist in a game with such a long history and development pedigree. I urge you to take immediate action to:
Fix the LFR system to prevent overcapacity groups from forming.
Ensure players are not penalized with deserter debuffs when they leave due to technical issues beyond their control.
Communicate transparently with the community about steps being taken to address these problems.
As someone who has supported this game for so many years, I expect better from Blizzard. Please take this feedback seriously and work toward resolving these issues so that other players do not have to endure the same frustrating experience.
Sincerely,
Your Mom
ABSOLUTELY CRAZY THAT AFTER 20 YEARS THIS IS SOMETHING THAT HAPPENS.
I donât think my mom plays WoW. Heck, last game I think she played was, like, Pac-Man or Galaga.
Anyway, as mentioned, the LFR cap is 30. My assumption is that you tried to join a group when a fight was going on, and you canât do that. Itâd be odd to save a wipe just having barracks full of reserve troops to dive in mid-fight.
Did you ask other players if they were having the issue, or reached out to them at all? It sounds like your troubleshooting was attempting to join once, and then just leaving to then make this post.
Max capacity is 30, so you leaving the group is your mistake, not Blizzards.
They donât, a 27 player raid has room for 3 more
Since this wasnât a system failure, your point here is moot.
LFRâs been 30 man groups for a very long time. And what sort of compensation do you want? Make a sandwich, watch an episode of The Office and requeue for another LFR after that.
When I worked for Barclaycard as a customer service agent (never doing that again) I had a ton of people tell me âI am a loyal customer for a million yearsâ and Iâm sorry but being a long time customer doesnât mean you get special treatment.
Demanding professionalism from Blizzard and signing off with this is hilarious.
There is absolutley no reason any mature, rational person would get infuriated over something so trivial which they caused⌠It might be time to grow up a bit.
Blizzard could easily add a UI element that says âfight in progress can not enterâ but instead you get a loading screen then nothing. They could also add some programming logic that detects when this happens, then messages said player when fight ends and they can enter.
This would take about 1 or 2 days to program and should be a basic feature.
