I just had my last 4 BGs experience 5000ms+ world latency today.
It normally doesn’t happen, and has happened for the last 3 or 4 days of BGs.
I have turned on and off the “optimize latency” function under network settings in WoW, but it doesn’t help at all.
Apparently I’m not the only one getting this. Today, during WSG, everyone left because of the lag. Others were also voicing the same problem and couldn’t get a single spell off during some of the matches.
What’s happening today? Is anyone else getting it? I’m from an Oceania server.
Same old bug that has been happening for over a year, mixed OCE/NA groups will sometimes shoot way up in latency. Only affects players that are a different region than the group lead, and there is nothing wrong on your side.
Never had it happen in BGs, that sucks. Relogging will 100% fix it, but you’d better be back online in 1min or you get kicked out as a deserter.
All you can really do is keep reporting it as a bug until it gets enough priority to finally be fixed.

Well, you’re playing at 2-3AM EST, that’s like OCE prime time LUL.
There should be region locks.

i raise you my secondhand sateilite internet latnecy awhile ago of 12223ms back during original wrath.
Love the OCE folks, but they REALLY need their own grouping or a way to opt out of grouping with OCE folks. The lag they create is REAL, and it’s bad. I average a 23-32ms, and when I get an OCE person with group lead, that MS shoots up to 250, and then continues to climb to the point where doing ANYTHING is painful. The highest I’ve seen in a dungeon was 1350, and I just had to give up as I was lagging so bad that I was attacking dead targets.
Nothing against you OCE folks, love the Aussies, Singaporeans and Kiwis, but something needs to be done for the good of all.
