Unable to update WoW

Only playing MoP classic

Every time I launch battle.net it says there is an update for wow, some times even when I close wow Im prompted to update. I get error message that it is not able to update and I have to reboot for the update to apply.

This happens every time I play. Sometimes I am not able to reboot and just cant use WoW until Ive wrapped up other things Im doing.

I’ve seen this issue off and on for a few years. Hopefully blizzard will be forced to address it when they update BattleNet to be apple Silicon native.

Other people have had luck using the activity monitor to kill blizzard’s background processes, but I feel it’s easier to just reboot.

I’ll try killing the the other blizz background agents

I have been trying to get wow to update also. No luck for me I have even tried to uninstall the game. still can’t seem to get it to work. Any help would be appreciated.

I have also had repeated issues as described above.

  1. Dozens of claimed “Updates” daily

  2. Regular Errors not allowing updates requiring restarts

Ultimately I’m able to play the game after a restart, but I should not have to restart my computer multiple times a day just to “clear” the above problems.

Killing Agent via Activity Monitor reliably works for me.

8/14 - Unable to Update Error, had to restart my computer to update version 5.5.0.62518 to version 5.5.0.62518!

… 30 minutes later. WoW updated from version 5.5.0.62518 to version 5.5.0.62518!

What the heck is going on lately? First the PTR has a broken executable, now the retail one too. At least Classic is still working. (For the moment, knock on wood)
