Unable to travel to Zandalar after faction change

Hello Everyone,

I recently faction changed my druid to Alliance and while in the process of unlocking the Dark Iron Dwarfs I realized I do not have access to the Zandalar footholds. I did some research and a lot of people suggested going back and picking up the initial quest that brings you into BFA, which I did. However, after I meet Cyrus in the downstairs area with Jaina I get no more quests and see no way of unlocking travel to Zandalar. The quests stopped before I even got the option to pick a zone to start questing on. Would appreciate any help since the ticket I submitted to Blizz came back with links to forums with no actual help Thanks!

I think you need to complete some of the war campaign quests to get the footholds (the quests obtained from the boat with the mission table)

This mission is the start of the war campaign, but you might need to do more introductory quests with Taelia/Cyrus before Genn’s becomes available. That said I’m not 100% sure how it would all work on a faction-swapped character, for normal characters you go to Boralus, talk to Taelia, and then get directed to the ship as far as I remember. Maybe something is wrong if you truly have no quests available at all, but I’d at least try poking around the ship with the mission board to make sure.

Turn on trival quests… Also he sends you to the dock to use the boat pass…
You can hop on the ship in the harbor as A… And H. The ship is at the Troll starting area. With stealth you can ride that ship…

looked around and even turned on trivial quest in minimap. I have 0 quests in my map here in Boralus. funny enough I have the 3 followers obtained by getting the footholds.

Edit: Correction, I found Taelia with the tour quest and then pointed me to meet up with Cyrus, and i was able to get to the quest “The Old Knight” but after hearing Cyrus’ story, I dont see a person to hand in the quest to. Taelia and Greymaine both faced out. The map tells me the turn in is in this very room, but no one shows turn in marker

Is there a quest on the wall?
Or a NPC leaning against the other side of room wall?

nope, I did more digging about why its not letting me, and i found something saying if I have the Kul Tiran race unlock quest I need to finish that… which makes no sense to me, but now im working on that in hopes that after I finish, I will be able to continue the intro quest chain.

Update: I can confirm it was the Kul Tiran race unlock quest that was screwing me up. Once completed I was able to finish the intro quests and can now set up footholds. Thanks Liamglenn and Miko!

A suggestion to Blizz: perhaps add a portal to Zandalar for Alliance and to Kul Tiras for horde since BFA is 2 expantions old, 3 next month.

That seems pretty logical to me.

Talk to the captain lady on the boat.

I don’t remember 100% but I’ve done faction swaps and you have to do the introductory quests, even if you already unlocked it when the character was the other faction. Includes stuff like Mechagon and the Naga zone. Bit of a bummer but once you get the portals/areas open you can just drop the quest and carry on.

Also we forgot to say it but welcome to the wyrmrest accord realm forum please tell us about your roleplay character

yea, so it doesnt unlock the equivalent for those things, so even though i had all 3 footholds from back when BFA was current, i have to redo them as alliance now that I race changed. I at least did one for the sake of having a port to Zandalar.

happy to report I was able to finish the allied race unlocks and even got myself the zandalar mask pepe!

Thanks! at the moment I dont really have one. My friend convinced me to come to this server when I came back to play recently and it wasn’t till I moved that I learned it was a rp server. Funny enough, I also play in an RP server in FFXIV, so it checks out that I ended up here in WoW haha

Just FYI…

If you do the group DG at the north end of the area. When you complete the instance.
You can go out the exit and will be in that area. Don’t leave group or that will make you go back to where you signed up for the group listing. Just find the exit inside and walk thu.
You can also ask a Mage to set out a port for you as well.
Two more ways…
Best way is to have a Warlock and another toon to summon you.

It really is worth pausing to note that this is one of the rare times we actually managed to help someone with a sincere question.

And it’s a shame too. Because now you’re all under arrest. Hands where I can see them!
