Starting last night I was getting horrible MS while in-game so I logged out, exited the battlenet launcher and tried restarting my computer and router. I was still having lag and disconnection issues so I logged out again and tried using the repair tool in the launcher, then got an error that says “whoops! something has gone wrong!” It seems the repair function scanned my files but can’t complete any repairing. I then followed the suggested fixes that I was directed to in the error message, but none of them have helped. I can’t think of anything else to do and I checked the forums and Blizzard CS twitter to see if anyone else was having an issue and it doesn’t seem like they are. So I resorted to submitting a ticket but kept getting an error saying that I couldn’t despite having attached the appropriate files.
After the ticket error I tried fresh installs of the Blizzard launcher and WoW (which fixed the repair tool bug), flushing my dns, deleting all my addons and replacing my folders, and updating everything I can think to update, including my drivers to fix the original issue without having to need to submit a ticket but nothing is working. I can get into the the game as far as 9/10 of the loading screen when logging in, then get disconnected.
I’ve checked official forums, the troubleshooting pages I was directed to when the errors occurred (which weren’t even loading for me) and just straight up googling to see if there are any other possible fixes I haven’t tried. It seems to be only WoW that’s not working, my internet is working perfectly fine in other areas. I even did a speed test. I’m really at my wit’s end, any advice or help is much appreciated.
If this is a consistent spot for your connection issues, that can generally tend to be a UI issue. Have you given a reset a shot to see if it helps? If nothing else, it’ll at least rule out addons and corrupt display elements as the cause.
Yea as of last night I have no addons installed and my folders have been replaced. But I just went ahead and tried it all again and now the loading screen bar only gets 3/4 of the way filled.
I’ve had this problem for months. Something is broken on their side, I had to resort to filing a generic “not listed here” ticket to finally get through to CS. Give that a shot.
It sounds like there’s a connection issue going on somewhere down the line between your modem and the Blizzard servers. Lets see if we can identify where the problem is occurring with a WinMTR.
Right-click on the downloaded .zip folder and select “Extract All”, to extract the files to a new folder.
Open the new folder that was created, then open the WinMTR_x64 folder.
Right-click on the WinMTR application and select “Run as administrator”.
Type the IP address 24.105.62.129 in the “Host” field.
Click on “Start” and then launch the game. Allow the test to run for at least 10 minutes. Try logging in a couple of times. Click on “Stop” once the 10 minutes is up.
Click on “Copy Text to Clipboard”, paste the results here, then highlight everything and hit the </> button in the posting section so it will allow links.
Mingonashoba- Did CS fix your problem. I am having the same problem. I was in game and just fell through the world, could not stay logged in and then tried to run a repair. This started the “Whoops something went wrong” loop and nothing I have tried will fix it. I just put in a ticket to CS so I am hoping for the best. Hope yours is fixed.
Sadly there isn’t much CS can to do fix my issue, it’s a network routing problem with the Blizzard/Google Cloud servers. All I can do is keep sending them more MTR traces and hope some day, somebody will take pity on me.
