I took a vault peice 2 weeks ago for a helm, converted it using a varnish on the helm to a 723 ilvl pvp conquest peice. The problem i have no is i cant use astral jeweler’s setting on the helm at all.
You cannot use the Astral Jeweler’s Setting on a helm that has had a varnish applied.
It says so in the items tooltip.
pretty sure thats not what its implying, based on how it previous has worked its implying you cant add a socket from both methods, the pve side then convert it and add another using the astral. In this case it never had a socket so it should still be able to gain a base socket of 1 using the corresponding items ( in this case astral jewelers). I summited an in game ticket and was even told this interaction appears to be a bug.
You can look here too, someone explains it.
I’m not sure how much clearer the tooltip can be, but if you believe it’s bugged you can put in a bug report in the Bug Report forum. Tickets, nor posting here, count as reporting a bug.
I get what youre saying, but this is a bug, your misinterpreting the wording on these items, example Conqueror’s Prized Varnish - Item - World of Warcraft also says the same thing, but you could use this and socket the helm still. Because its referencing that you cant get more than 1 socket by converting it hence " additional sockets". Its just a bug and should be granting 1 socket on a pvp converted helm, but it will not if its trying to grant an “additional socket”. Because for example you can use a varnish on a pve item that has a socket on it and it will retain its socket, this would be the instance at which that tooltip applys.
If you feel its a bug edit and move this to the bug fors this forum doesnt pass along bugs.
So are we just going to overlook this bug for the rest of the season?
