The Avenging wrath glyph isn’t removable via vanishing powder on my holy spec’d paladin. The Glyph doesn’t even appear, but the animation is not the new one. Protection and retribution have the new animation.
This may be related to me race changing recently. Idk.
I am also having this issue. I removed the glyph and the new animation worked until I loaded into a new zone, then the 4 wing glyph reappeared even though the glyph is no longer applied. Is this a client side bug?
This only happens in my Holy spec.
I have this same problem. Did you race change recently? It only happened on my pally that race changed.
The glyph doesn’t even show up in the spellbook so you can’t remove it. It’s also really weird that both of us have this problem ONLY in holy spec.

If you originally had the glyph on it was bugged for the longest time and still is even if you removed it. I removed my wings glyph for holy a very long time ago and still had the 4 wing visual all through legion. The only way to see the new wings now is to run AC which is stupid for mythic+ and now I can’t even enjoy the visuals.
I really hope the shutdown fixes this issue, because if it doesn’t I have a feeling they won’t even address it until much later. They’ve already ignored every post about it.
I tested this with my blood elf pally that never used the glyph. My new visuals are 100% working with every talent pick. So this is an issue with the glyph and it not updating the visual even after removed.
After the shutdown I just tested the adding and removal of the glyph to my spec again and it updated the visuals.
So go and get yourself the winged vengeance glyph and add it to your wings and then remove it with the vanishing powder and let me know if it worked.
I poped wings after adding it and waited the entire cd before removing it with powder. I doubt it matters if you wait or not but that’s what I did for testing.

After logging out and back in I activated wings again and it reverted back to the 4 wings glyph one.

Deleted wtf folder - no change
Fresh reinstall of world of warcraft - no change
deleted and restored character - no change
This is 100% on them so if they ask you to do the basics I’ve already tested it all.
Experiencing the same thing here. The skill doesn’t show the glyph is applied on the tooltip yet the visual is still present. I tried applying the glyph then removing it with vanishing powder, which worked for a time, however when re-logging the glyph visual was back. I am also having this issue. Adding the glyph and then removing it gave me the new animation temporarily, but upon next logging in, I was back on the four-winged old appearance.
I just sortof stopped playing holy as that was the spec i had the problem on.
Same here. Please give us a fix Blizz. This is such a small thing for us to ask for after you get Ret.
If you change your lvl90 talent the visual will update. E.g. My Sanctified Wrath has 4 wings but if I swap to Avenging Crusader I’ll have the updated visual. Unfortunately swapping back to Sanctified Wrath brings back the 4 wings
Unfortunately, Kenyetumin, I only have an interest in playing Holy. Healer for life.
Same problem here - not related to race change. Glyph does not show active but the wings are still the (4) wing type.
It would be nice if Blizzard confirmed whether or not this was intentional, and if not that it is being looked at.
I find it extreeeeeemely hard to believe this was intentional.
I found I could change it if I changed away from that Talent, on Ret and Holy. On Holy if I was using Sanctified Wrath, change to Avenge. On Ret if I was Still using Divine Purpose change to Crusade.
Same problem here. I’ve tried Vanishing Powder half a dozen times now, to no effect - I still have the 4 wings glyph on my Ret spec. Furthermore, when I try to apply the Vanishing Powder, it pops up a blank window with just “yes” and “no” in it (no other text). I hit yes, and nothing happens. The powder is used up, but the glyph remains.
The new wings appear on my other specs, but Ret is still glyphed. I’d like to get rid of it… the new wings look so much better…
Try changing your Crusade talent, unglyphing Avenging Wrath, then going back to Crusade.
Still having the same issue many years later. I even did a fresh install of wow and have no addons. The glyph will not remove. I have opened tickets only to be met with auto responses that have nothing to do with this issue. I have the same issue with my death knight raise dead glyph. Blizzard will offer no help.
Issue still happening. I have opened two tickets which directed me to the forums.
