Unable to paste link into macro

Using a link such as the clickable to invite someone into guild works for me when i paste it into a chat bubble or guild chat or party chat or other.

However, when i try to make a macro and perform that same shift click link into the macro so it hot links vs a copy/paste function, it does nothing.

Bug grabber isn’t reporting any error, and yes, i’m obviously running addons, and last night i tried to disable addons in batches (haven’t tried disable all yet, but that will be a test today), and none of my tests fixed the wonky behavior.

Any thoughts if there’s some setting as well that could be interfering with the desired fuctionality?

I could link any one of the numerous tutorial “how to create a guild spam” macros for you to see what i’m trying to do, however the actual trying to do it fails with nothing copied into the macro - but it can be pasted everywhere else.

Thoughts?

I’d recommend moving your post over to the Macro and UI Forum as someone there may have come across this in the past.

You can move your post by clicking on the edit icon (little pencil) that shows up when you mouse over your original post and find the UI and Macro forum in the drop-down list.
