Unable to open Zskera Vaults after skipping to Zerelek Caverns

I finished leveling an alt and proceeded to use the dialog options to skip to the start of the Zerelek Caverns questline. Now I am unable to find any quests related to opening the Zskera Vaults.

I have tried:

  • Speaking to Kurazidaia on top of Valdrakken, only option is to view cutscene again.
  • Searching around the hub area on Morqut Islet in Forbidden Reach. No quests involving the vaults.
  • Going directly to the vault entrance, there are no NPCs anywhere near the entrance.
  • Killing rares for a key to maybe get a quest. After killing around 10, I didn’t get a key, will continue and report back IF I get a key.

World quests are unlocked and available in Forbidden Reach, and the NPCs standing around the socketing/stone destroying stations are standing there as if I had unlocked the vault and ability to change stones.

Do you have trivial quests turned on, just in case that might be the issue?

The quest shouldn’t be trivial though, it is a level 70 quest. The quest Helping Hand and Claw, which is given by Scalecommander Viridia after you unlock the world quests, which the OP has done by skipping the opening quest line, should be the starting point for the short questline to open the vault. You have to do the quest for the NPCs to show up at the vault.

OP do you have the quest Helping Hand and Claw in your quest log by any chance?

Here is a comment about the quest line to open the vault from WowHead:
There is a short 4-quest storyline that will get you into the Zskera Vaults:

  1. Helping Hand and Claw: Scalecommander Viridia will give you this quest in the starting area of the Forbidden Reach. The starting area is on the shore if a pentagon shaped island. You’ll head south down the waterway to rescue the NPCs that will be your bodyguards in the Zskera Vaults. You’ll need to retrieve some supply crates from the water.

  2. Exploring Our Past: Scalecommander Viridia sends you to Zskera Vaults in the middle of the island. It’s at ground level, but it’s hidden by bushes. Your bodyguards are already there.

  3. Zskera Vault: Az: Speak with Pathfinder Jeb to enter the Vaults. There are a number of things you’ll need to do there. But first get the keys.

  4. The Keys You Need: Pathfinder Tacha will give you several keys that will open doors within the Vaults. My alt received 8 keys. Pathfinder Jeb and Pathfinder Tacha will accompany you as bodyguards.

I know, it was more a “just in case” thing, if something was oddly bugged or whatnot. :slight_smile:

This was it! Why is this quest not a Story Quest with the border. It was using the normal meaningless quest icon.

Not sure, but it probably should be. Someone else brought that up in the WowHead comments as well. Glad you got it figured out.

I think because it was considered a side quest for optional side-content, as the vaults themselves are not part of the main storyline.

This was the solution to my issue, thank you so much! <3 They really should make this a campaign border and not a “side” quest.
